What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026On the 23 Feb 2026 renewal call, Marlstone Legal was positive and Tom Ashdown quoted £44k for twelve months from 1 Apr 2026, unchanged. The renewal order form was still to be sent, so the renewal is an open item.
What happened: Elena Novak and Tom Ashdown spoke with Emma Croft, Chief Executive, and Toby Mellor, Finance Manager, on 23 Feb 2026. The term discussed runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.
Customer view: Emma said the brain had been better than expected, and Toby said the commercial team uses it heavily. Emma also said they do not use all 40 seats and have not needed more than two connectors.
Commercial: Tom quoted £44k for the year, the same as now, with service terms unchanged. The order form was still to be sent for review, so this is not executed paper, and the call does not show it was signed.
Watch: Use sits well below the Growth entitlement of 40 users and eight connectors. That could raise a tier-fit question at a later renewal.

Transcript
- Elena NovakGood morning, Emma, Toby. Thanks so much for joining. I'm Elena from the Amsterdam office, and Tom's joining us from London. We wanted to touch base ahead of your renewal in early April. Did you get the agenda I sent over?
- Emma CroftYes, we did. So you want to talk about how it's going and the renewal terms. I have to say, it's been a lot better than we expected. The team's really using it.
- Tom AshdownThat's brilliant to hear. From our side, we've been tracking your usage and adoption is definitely solid. You've got good engagement across the team.
- Toby MellorYeah, it's definitely added value. The commercial team's using it heavily for client work. It's probably saving us time on pulling together reports and data for proposals.
- Elena NovakThat's exactly what we like to hear. So to confirm: you're on Growth at the moment, which gives you 40 licensed users, eight connectors, and quarterly check-ins with us. You've been live for almost a year now. Has Growth been the right tier for you?
- Emma CroftYeah, I think it's been right. We're not using all 40 seats, and we haven't needed more than two connectors. So the tier's fine.
- Tom AshdownGood. So on renewal, we're looking at renewing Growth for another year. The renewal price is 44000 for the year, annual contract. That's the same as what you're paying now, just rolling forward another twelve months.
- Toby MellorSo no price increase?
- Tom AshdownThat's right. You renew on the terms you're currently on. The 44000 is your renewal price for the year.
- Emma CroftOkay, that's good. And the contract terms, is anything changing there?
- Elena NovakTo confirm, support response times remain as they are for Growth. First response within one business hour, nightly data refresh by seven o'clock your local time. Service availability at 99.5 per cent. All the same as now.
- Toby MellorAnd the contract, is it twelve months again?
- Tom AshdownYeah, twelve months from 1 April 2026 through to 31 March 2027. We invoice in advance, so we'll send the invoice on the first of April.
- Emma CroftOkay, that all sounds straightforward. What's the next step?
- Elena NovakSo I will send through the renewal order form for you to review. It'll have all the terms, the price, the dates. Toby, if you want to have a look and come back with any questions, we can sort that out. Once you've approved it, you just sign and we're good to go.
- Toby MellorHow long does that usually take?
- Tom AshdownUsually a week or two. If you've got any legal questions or anything, let us know and we can chat. But the template's pretty standard.
- Emma CroftFine. Send it over and we'll turn it around quickly.
- Elena NovakBrilliant. Is there anything else you'd like to discuss? Questions about the product, about the terms, anything like that?
- Emma CroftNot for me. Toby?
- Toby MellorNo, I think we're good. Just send the form.
- Tom AshdownWill do. So Elena will send that over today or tomorrow. In the meantime, if you've got any questions, just ping us. We want to make sure this is all crystal clear before you sign anything.
- Elena NovakAnd just to say, thanks for being such great customers. The adoption and the usage you're getting out of the brain is exactly what we want to see. We really enjoy working with you lot.
- Emma CroftThanks, that's good to hear. We're happy too.
- Tom AshdownBrilliant. Right, I'll let you all get on. Cheers, everyone.
