As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Paul Rigby reported repairs job refs showing up twice in the dashboard after the housing system upgrade. Bethan Lister identified duplicate records and applied a standard deduplication filter to the query, excluding duplicates automatically.
Problem: The housing system upgrade created duplicate records that flowed into the repairs dashboard, making job counts unreliable and breaking Paul's reporting. He had a spreadsheet of affected refs.
Handling: Bethan reviewed the spreadsheet, identified the pattern, and applied a deduplication filter to the dashboard query as a standard safe operation. The fix filters out duplicate job refs automatically.
Watch: This is the first of several duplicate repairs records tickets. Paul works in data operations and depends on reliable counts. The root cause is a housing system change, not the brain.

- created · Paul Rigby 4 Apr 2025 15:19Repairs job refs are showing up double in the dashboard. The housing system did this after the upgrade last month. I've got a spreadsheet with all the affected job refs attached, quite a few of them. Before I report this to the housing team, how do I filter duplicates out of the dashboard queries? I don't want to break anything else in the data.
- Public reply · Bethan Lister 4 Apr 2025 15:54Just so I've got this right: the housing system is creating duplicate records, and they're coming through into the repairs dashboard? I've had a look at your spreadsheet and I can see the pattern. The fix is to add a deduplication filter to the query that feeds the dashboard. It's not risky, this is standard. I've gone ahead and applied it, so duplicate jobs will now be excluded automatically. Can you check the dashboard and tell me if those job refs from your list are now showing once each?
