What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Shabana Iqbal asked what connectors read, where data sits and her team's effort. After Sophie Ling's answers, Fiona Drummond asked for a proposal, subject to partners' sign-off.
Ask: Shabana needs to know what the connectors read, whether anything is written back, where data is stored and the ongoing effort for a small team.
Customer view: Fiona said the answers cover most of what the partners asked, and she is keen but will not skip sign-off.
Next: Theo Gallagher sends Shabana a written outline for her IT provider, and Sophie prepares the proposal. The reply took a week, which Sophie apologised for.

- Sophie Ling 10 Aug 2026 15:48Hi all, Thank you for your time at the demo. Fiona, Shabana and Becca, it was useful to see how Becca's audit clients would look in one view. A few things came up that I said I would follow up on. I've copied Theo, our solutions engineer, who will pick up the technical points. Shabana, you asked how the brain would connect to your practice management system and your billing records, and who on your side would need to be involved. Theo can go through that with you directly. Becca, you asked whether a client's open queries would show up alongside the work in progress. Yes, that is the idea, and we can show you on your own data once the connectors are set up. Could you send over the system names and anything Shabana's team needs to check first? Thanks, Sophie
- Shabana Iqbal 12 Aug 2026 12:08Hi Sophie, Thanks for the follow-up. From my side the main questions are about access and where the data sits. Our practice management system is the main source, and billing sits in the accounting system. I need to understand what the connectors read, whether anything is written back, and where it is stored. I also need to know what my team would have to do on an ongoing basis, as we are not a large department. If Theo can send something in writing I can take it to our IT provider. Regards, Shabana
- Sophie Ling 17 Aug 2026 17:21Hi all, Sorry for the gap, Shabana. I wanted Theo's answers to be right rather than quick. Here they are in his words, in the order you asked. First, the connectors read from your systems; they do not write back to them. Second, BG-Demo runs inside your own Snowflake account, so your data stays within your environment rather than being copied to ours. Third, on the ongoing effort for your team, Theo expects it to be light after setup, mainly looking after access and responding if a source system changes. He can evidence that with a written outline. Theo will send the outline to Shabana separately. Fiona, once Shabana is comfortable, I would suggest the next step is a proposal. Thanks, Sophie
- Fiona Drummond 18 Aug 2026 09:12Hi Sophie, Thanks, this is really helpful and answers most of what the partners asked me this week. I've seen this work in a similar firm, so I'm keen to keep moving, but I won't skip the partners' sign-off. Please prepare the proposal and let's start with the partners who'll use it. Shabana, shout if the outline from Theo raises anything for IT. Thanks, Fiona
