What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Renewal call on 6 Jul 2026. Sophie Ling disclosed a £50k renewal deal in the CRM against the contracted £42k. Conor Daly was blunt that it is a lot more and will agree nothing until he has it in writing.
What happened: Sophie confirmed the executed order form from 15 Aug 2025 governs: Growth, 40 licensed users, £42k a year. She said the earlier draft was superseded the day the executed copy was signed.
Customer view: Conor said the CRM renewal deal amount of £50k is a good deal more than they pay now. Declan Moran, the Financial Controller, confirmed the £42k invoice is paid and wants the renewal to name what it replaces.
Commercial: The £50k is a deal amount expected to close on 23 Jul 2026, not a signed term. Conor said he will not sign until he has seen it and Declan has checked it.
Watch: Price is the live issue and quarterly invoicing was floated by Declan. The evidence does not show how the price query was resolved.

Transcript
- Marcus BellHello, can you hear me alright? I can see Conor. Declan, I think you're still joining.
- Conor DalyHello Marcus, yes, we can hear you fine. Declan's just coming off another call, he said a minute or so.
- Sophie LingAfternoon all, Sophie here. Sorry, my last call overran and I've only just got my headphones working.
- Conor DalyNo bother at all. Afternoon, Sophie.
- Declan MoranAfternoon, sorry, I'm here. Can you hear me? Right, good. Apologies, I was stuck on the month-end reconciliation.
- Marcus BellNot a problem. Is it as wet in Dublin as it is up here? It's been lashing it down in Manchester since the weekend.
- Conor DalySame, same. Typical July. Anyway, shall we get into it? I've only got the half hour.
- Sophie LingYes, of course. So this is the renewal call for the Growth subscription. Your contract runs to 14 Aug 2026 and the renewal date on our side is 15 Aug 2026, so we've got a few weeks, but I'd rather not leave it to the last minute.
- Conor DalyFair enough. Before anything else, can we confirm the paperwork? Which version is the signed one?
- Sophie LingThe executed order form from 15 Aug 2025. That's the one that governs. It has Growth, forty licensed users, and the annual figure is £41,800.
- Conor DalyRight. And that's the only one? There was a draft going round last summer, if I remember.
- Sophie LingThere was, yes, but the draft was superseded the day the executed copy was signed. The signed copy is the one to rely on, and I can resend it today so you've got it to hand.
- Declan MoranThat matches what I have. We've been invoiced £41,800 and it's been paid, nothing outstanding on our ledger. I just want to be sure the renewal is built from the same document.
- Marcus BellYeah, and on our side there's nothing overdue either, so that's all clean.
- Conor DalyGood. Let's check the order form against whatever you send, then. What are you proposing for the renewal?
- Sophie LingOkay, so I want to be upfront about this. In our system the renewal deal is showing as £50,000, expected to close on 23 Jul 2026. That's the deal amount we've got on the record, and it reflects where the Growth list now sits for renewals. It's not a signed term, and it's not something I'm asking you to agree on a call.
- Conor DalyMm. That's a good deal more than we pay now.
- Sophie LingIt is, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. What I'd like to do is put the renewal order form together in writing, with the figures laid out clearly, and let you and Declan go through it properly. If there's anything to discuss on price, we do that against a written document.
- Conor DalyThat's how I'd want it. I don't agree terms on a call, as you know. Put it in writing and we'll read it.
- Declan MoranCan I ask a couple of practical things? Is the invoicing the same as last year, annual in advance, thirty-day terms?
- Sophie LingStandard is annual in advance with thirty-day terms, yes. Quarterly is possible if you ask for it, but I'd want that written into the order form rather than assumed.
- Declan MoranI'll probably want to look at quarterly. Conor, your view?
- Conor DalyLet's keep annual unless I say otherwise. Cash is fine for it. Declan, we'll decide when we've seen the document.
- Declan MoranFine. And will the new order form say clearly what it replaces? I don't want two documents both claiming to be current.
- Sophie LingYes, it'll name the existing order form by its date, 15 Aug 2025, and say what changes. I'll make that explicit.
- Marcus BellCan I add a bit on usage, just so Conor has the picture? I've pulled the numbers. You've got forty licensed users, and the active number's been steady, around eleven on average over the last month.
- Conor DalyI'll stop you there, Marcus, if you don't mind. Product is Aoife's side. I'm only here for the contract.
- Marcus BellOf course, yes. I'll keep it short. It's steady, there's nothing alarming in it, and I'll go through the detail with Aoife separately. Happy to jump on a call with her.
- Conor DalyGood. Do that.
- Declan MoranOne more from me. If we wanted to change the number of users in the renewal, is that something we'd raise with you, Sophie?
- Sophie LingYes, with me. Marcus can tell you what the usage looks like, but anything commercial comes through me. If you want fewer or more, tell me and I'll reflect it in the draft.
- Marcus BellAnd I'd be the last person to argue price, that's Sophie's department. I'll stick to making sure it's useful for you.
- Conor DalySensible. So, to be clear on next steps. Sophie, you'll send the signed order form from 15 Aug 2025 again, and a renewal order form in writing.
- Sophie LingCorrect. Both by the end of this week. Declan, I'll copy you in so you've got everything in one thread.
- Declan MoranPlease. I'll compare it line by line and come back with questions in writing.
- Conor DalyAnd I won't sign anything until I've seen it and Declan has checked it. Fine?
- Sophie LingAbsolutely. We've got time before 14 Aug 2026, but let's not leave it to the last week.
- Marcus BellI'll set up a quick call with Aoife this week as well, so the usage side is covered and nobody's waiting on me.
- Conor DalyGrand. Thanks everyone. Speak soon.
- Declan MoranThanks all. Bye now.
- Sophie LingThanks both. Speak soon. Bye.
- Marcus BellCheers all, bye.
