As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Sunil Kapoor identified duplicate client records from the initial sync of project and commercial systems. Bethan Lister identified the root cause as the mapping of both systems together and committed to a dedup cleanup by end of week.
Problem: During reconciliation, Sunil found clients appearing twice with different project codes, breaking ties to the finance ledger. Handling: Bethan explained that the duplicates arose when both project and commercial systems were mapped together during the initial sync. She identified the finance system as the source of truth for reporting, advised using project codes from there, and committed to running a dedup cleanup by end of week. Watch: This is a known mapping issue from onboarding, not a live system failure.

That doesn't tie to the ledger. Can you run a dedup on these, or which project code should I use for the reporting (commercial or project)?
- Public reply · Bethan Lister 15 Oct 2024 11:19Hi Sunil, thanks for catching that. The duplicates came through during the initial sync when we mapped both the project and commercial systems together. You're right that one client list is the goal. For reporting, the finance system should be the source of truth, so use the project codes from there. I'll run a dedup on those duplicate records and have it cleaned up by end of week, then it'll sync through on the next refresh cycle. Thanks, Bethan
