About 5 trade accounts in the North region were showing duplicate records with the same account ID but different contact information. Tariq suspected it was related to how the brain handles fields that update in the CRM. The evidence does not show the resolution.

Problem: Tariq identified approximately 5 accounts in the North region with duplicate records in the brain. The duplicates had the same account ID but differing field values (e.g., one had a phone number, the other didn't). This was affecting accuracy of the monthly data review dashboard.

Handling: Olivia asked for details and Tariq investigated, identifying that the duplicates were specific to the North region. Tariq hypothesized it might be related to how the brain handles field updates from the CRM.

Watch: The evidence does not show the root cause or resolution. Data duplication is a serious accuracy issue that undermines confidence in the brain. If it's related to CRM field update handling, it could indicate a syncing problem affecting other customers with similar data patterns.

I've noticed that a couple of our trade accounts are showing duplicate records in the brain when we query them. It's affecting the monthly data review - we're seeing the same account with slightly different information in two places. I spot-checked one account and the CRM only has one record, so the duplication is happening somewhere in the sync or mapping. Which account should I investigate first, or do you need any logs from the load process? Cheers, Tariq

Hi Tariq, Thanks for catching this. Data duplication can affect the accuracy of the reports. I need a bit more information: - Which accounts are affected? - What's different between the duplicate records? - When did you first notice it? Once I have those details I'll investigate the sync logs. Thanks, Olivia

Hi Olivia, I've dug into this a bit. It's about five accounts in the North region with duplicate records. They have the same account ID but different contact information - one record has a phone number the other one doesn't have, for example. I first noticed it last week when building the monthly review dashboard. Looking at the mapping, I wonder if it's something about how we're handling fields that update in the CRM. Cheers, Tariq
