What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Helen Marsden says the approach is right but asks how a dashboard figure traces to its source record, and what her team must do in implementation. Tom Ashdown offers a live demo on arrears data and a delivery plan.
Ask: Tom sent the £56k Growth proposal on 22 Jul 2024. Helen replied on 23 Jul 2024 with two gaps: arrears reconciliation to the housing system, and her team's workload.
Customer view: Supportive but conditional, and she needs the detail before taking it to anyone.
Next: Tom promises a live arrears demo and a plan from delivery, both without dates.

- Tom Ashdown 22 Jul 2024 14:27Hi Helen, Thanks for your time on the call. Good to hear how the board pack gets pulled together at the moment, and I can see why the repairs and arrears sections take so much reconciling. As promised, the proposal is attached. It's the Growth tier, with the implementation done inside your own Snowflake account. The total deal value is £56,000. I'll confirm the exact split between the one-off implementation and the subscription in the order form, as I don't want you working from my memory of it. The bit I think matters most for you is the tenant calls, repairs tickets, complaints and arrears landing in one place, so the board numbers can be traced back to source. If it helps, I can walk your team through how that works on a sample of your own data. Could you have a read and tell me what's missing or unclear? No drama if it needs a few passes. Cheers, Tom
- Helen Marsden 23 Jul 2024 10:34Dear Tom, Thank you for the proposal. I have read it through and have a few points before I can take it further. First, the arrears section of the board pack. Our figures there have to reconcile to the housing management system, and at present they don't always. The proposal says the brain will join the data, but it does not say how a figure on a dashboard is traced back to the record it came from. The board will ask, so can you show me the source? Second, I would like to understand what my team is responsible for during implementation, so I can judge the time it needs from us. I do think the approach is right. I just need the detail before I put it in front of anyone. Kind regards, Helen
- Tom Ashdown 24 Jul 2024 17:56Hi Helen, Fair questions, and thanks for being straight about them. On the source point: every answer and dashboard figure in the brain links back to the underlying record in the system it came from, so you can click through from a board-pack number to the row behind it. I'd rather show you that live than describe it, so let's get something in the diary where I do it on your arrears data. That should settle whether it reconciles in the way you need. On your team's time: I'll get a proper plan from our delivery side and send it over, rather than guess at it here. Leave that with me. I'm aiming to keep this moving towards the 16 Aug 2024 date we talked about, but only if it works for you. Cheers, Tom
