What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026On 28 Aug 2024 Marcus Bell raised a drop in activity since May. Shirley Bowman blamed staffing changes and a stretched admin, and expects to stay on Starter at the November renewal, subject to how things settle.
What happened: Marcus said activity had tailed off over the last couple of months. Shirley had not realised and put it down to staffing changes in the office.
Customer view: She said the tool is valuable when used and that Aaron, the admin, is stretched too. She saw little the team could do in the short term.
Commercial: Asked about renewal, Shirley said probably Starter for now and wants to see how things settle. That is a soft commitment, not a decision.
Watch: Usage rests largely on Aaron, a key-person risk. The brain may go stale while the team is busy.

Opportunities

Transcript
- Marcus BellHi Shirley. Got a minute?
- Shirley BowmanYeah, hi Marcus. What's up?
- Marcus BellSo I've been looking at the usage numbers and I wanted to check in with you. The activity's dropped off a bit over the last few months, and I'm keen to understand what's happened.
- Shirley BowmanOh. Has it? I didn't realize we'd slowed down.
- Marcus BellYeah, back in May you were running queries regularly. The last couple of months, that's tailed off. Is there something that's changed? Is Aaron still the only person using it from the admin side?
- Shirley BowmanMostly, yeah. I've been using it a bit, but honestly, things have been hectic. We had some staffing changes in the office, so it's been a bit mad.
- Marcus BellAh, right. That would explain it. So it's not that the tool isn't working, it's just that you've had other priorities.
- Shirley BowmanExactly. We know it's valuable when we do use it. Just got a lot on.
- Marcus BellUnderstood. But I do want to make sure it's not going stale on you. The brain is only useful if you're querying it. Are there things we can do to make it easier for you to stay engaged? Could Aaron dedicate a bit more time?
- Shirley BowmanHe's pretty stretched too. I'm not sure there's much we can do in the short term.
- Marcus BellOkay. Well, let's at least schedule a short session in a few weeks where we revisit what you're trying to solve and make sure you're set up for success when things calm down. How does that sound?
- Shirley BowmanYeah, I can do that.
- Marcus BellGood. Your renewal's coming up in November, so this is a good time to think about what the next year looks like. Do you want to stay on Starter, or is there anything different you're thinking?
- Shirley BowmanProbably Starter for now. Let me see how things settle down and we can talk about it closer to the time.
- Marcus BellFair enough. I'll get something in the diary for next month. Thanks, Shirley.
- Shirley BowmanThanks, Marcus.
