What was said
What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Only Femke van Gestel and Bas Kuijpers log in so far. Read access from IT is unconfirmed, so Laura Penhaligon would not give a firm date for three sources. Rollout to account managers waits until they are live.
What happened: Laura set out three first sources: orders, helpdesk and accounting. Email comes second, starting with shared mailboxes only.
Customer view: Femke wants orders, delivery complaints and credit queries in one view and said that is the whole reason they bought it. Her real question is whether account managers use it.
Commercial: Forty licences are held but only two people log in. Laura held back invitations and could only say sources might load shortly after the new year if IT agrees read access.
Watch: IT access, the pre-Christmas slowdown and messy helpdesk categories. Credit detail is limited to open or closed and the date, with no amounts.

Follow-up
Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Bas Kuijpers to agree read-only access with IT and tell Femke van Gestel on Monday if it is a no.
- Laura Penhaligon to send Bas the list of tables needed for read access today or tomorrow.
- Femke van Gestel to consider email privacy rules and send the first account manager group after the holidays.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- IT read access is unconfirmed, and the week before Christmas is difficult, so the first three sources may slip.
- Only two of forty licences are in use, so adoption by account managers is unproven.
- Messy helpdesk categories could weaken the complaints view.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Two accounts per account manager, chosen by Femke, gives a practical adoption route.
- Email via shared mailboxes can follow once the privacy rules are agreed.
Transcript
- Laura PenhaligonMorning, Femke, morning Bas. Can you both hear me all right?
- Femke van GestelGood morning, Laura. Yes, I hear you fine. Bas is here, he is just unmuting.
- Bas KuijpersHi, yes, hello. Sorry, the headset was on the wrong device.
- Laura PenhaligonNo problem at all. Is it cold with you? It's properly grey in London this morning.
- Femke van GestelGrey here too. Eindhoven is always grey in December. But dry, so I cannot complain.
- Laura PenhaligonHa, fair enough. Shall we get going?
- Femke van GestelYes. Let's make it practical. First, last time's actions. I had to send you the list of account managers who go first. I sent it on Tuesday. You got it?
- Laura PenhaligonI did, thank you. That's the first group, the account managers who cover the biggest installer accounts. And Bas, you were going to look at who can give us read access to the order data.
- Bas KuijpersYes. So, I spoke to a colleague in IT. It is possible, but they want to know exactly which tables. They do not want to open the whole database.
- Laura PenhaligonThat's sensible, and it's what we'd ask for anyway. Read-only, only the tables we need. I'll send you a short list after this call so you have it in writing for them.
- Bas KuijpersGood. That helps. Otherwise I explain it three times in three different ways.
- Femke van GestelWhat is the plan for the connectors, Laura? Because I want the account managers to see orders, delivery complaints and credit queries in one view. That is the whole reason we bought it.
- Laura PenhaligonYes, understood. So the plan I'd suggest is three sources first. The order data, the helpdesk where the delivery complaints land, and the accounting system for the credit queries. Once those are loading properly we add the rest.
- Femke van GestelAnd the email? The account managers talk to installers by email all day.
- Laura PenhaligonEmail and calendars come next, through Microsoft 365 if that's what you use. I'd keep it second, because it's the one that makes people ask questions about privacy, and I'd like us to agree the rules with you first.
- Femke van GestelMm. Yes. That is sensible. Do not rush that one.
- Bas KuijpersWe are on Microsoft 365, yes. I can check which mailboxes would be in scope. I think shared mailboxes for the sales desk first, not personal ones.
- Laura PenhaligonThat would be a very good start. Shared mailboxes only to begin with, and we can widen it later if Femke is comfortable.
- Femke van GestelI am comfortable with shared mailboxes. Personal ones, we talk about later.
- Laura PenhaligonPerfect. Now, one thing I wanted to raise. When I look at usage so far, it's really only the two of you logging in. Which is normal at this stage, I'm not worried. But you have forty licences, and I'd like to be sure the account managers actually arrive to something useful.
- Femke van GestelYes. I know. That is me and Bas. I do not want to invite forty people into an empty room.
- Laura PenhaligonExactly that. So I'd suggest we don't invite anyone until the first three sources are live and you've asked it a few real questions yourselves.
- Femke van GestelAgreed. But then I need a date. What is the plan for the date?
- Laura PenhaligonFair challenge. I can't give you an honest date until the access is sorted, because that's the thing everything else waits on. If Bas gets the read access in the next week or so, I'd be comfortable saying the first three sources are loading shortly after the new year.
- Bas KuijpersThe week before Christmas is difficult in IT. Many people are away. But I will push it. If I get a yes this week, then it is fine.
- Femke van GestelBas, if they say no, tell me. I will call the manager myself.
- Bas KuijpersOkay. I will tell you on Monday, one way or the other.
- Laura PenhaligonLovely. Can I share my screen? I'd like to show you the connector checklist so we're looking at the same thing.
- Femke van GestelYes, please.
- Laura PenhaligonRight, can you see it? So on the left is each source, in the middle who owns it on your side, and on the right what we need from them. I've left the owner column blank on purpose, because I'd rather you tell me than guess.
- Femke van GestelYes, I see. The order data, Bas owns the technical side. I own the business meaning. If the numbers look strange, I am the one who says if they are wrong.
- Laura PenhaligonThat's a useful split. So Bas is the technical owner, Femke the business owner. I'll write that down. And the helpdesk?
- Bas KuijpersThe helpdesk, that is also me for the connection. But the person who knows what the categories mean is on the customer service team. A colleague there. I would like her in one session, maybe.
- Laura PenhaligonYes, that would be really helpful, because delivery complaints are a big part of the value for you. If the categories are messy, the brain will reflect that, and I'd like to catch it early.
- Femke van GestelThey are a bit messy. I will be honest. Late delivery, wrong delivery, damaged, they are not always used the same way.
- Laura PenhaligonThat's very common. Not a problem, it's just something we'd rather know now. We can map them together in that session, it doesn't take long.
- Bas KuijpersI can set it up. After the first of January, probably.
- Femke van GestelFine. And the accounting system, the credit queries. That one is sensitive. Only a few people should see the detail.
- Laura PenhaligonRight. Good that you say it now. We can limit who sees what, so account managers might see that a credit query is open and its status, without the full detail. I'd want you to tell me exactly where that line is.
- Femke van GestelOpen or closed, and the date. Not the amounts. The amounts are for finance.
- Laura PenhaligonOpen or closed and the date, no amounts. Got it. I'll note that as a rule rather than leave it in my head.
- Bas KuijpersCan I ask something technical? When you say read-only, does the brain write anything back to our systems? IT will ask.
- Laura PenhaligonNo, nothing goes back. It reads, and everything it builds sits inside your own Snowflake account, so the data doesn't leave your environment. I'll put that in the note for your IT colleague as well, because it answers half their questions.
- Bas KuijpersGood. Yes. That is the sentence they want.
- Femke van GestelDo the account managers use it? That is my only real question in the end. If they do not use it, the rest does not matter.
- Laura PenhaligonCompletely agree, and that's why I'm being a bit stubborn about not inviting them early. What tends to work is a short session with each small group, using their own installers. They ask about an account they know, and it answers. That's the moment it lands.
- Femke van GestelYes. Let's make it practical like that. Their own installers. I will pick two accounts per person.
- Laura PenhaligonPerfect. That's a great homework item, actually. Two accounts each, ones they know well enough to spot a wrong answer.
- Femke van GestelI will send you the first group after the holidays.
- Laura PenhaligonWonderful. Let me recap so we all leave with the same thing. Bas, you get the read-only access request agreed with IT and tell Femke on Monday if it's a no. I send you the list of tables today or tomorrow. Femke, you think about the privacy rules for email and the credit query line, which I've noted. And we meet again before Christmas week ends to see where the access is.
- Femke van GestelYes. And we book it now, not later. I do not like later.
- Laura PenhaligonHa, understood. I'll send an invite straight after this. Anything else from either of you?
- Bas KuijpersNo, I think it is clear. I have my list.
- Femke van GestelNo. Good call. Thank you, Laura.
- Laura PenhaligonThank you both. Speak soon, and have a good weekend.
- Femke van GestelGroetjes, Femke. Bye.
