What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Tom Ashdown presented the Starter proposal to Sam Entwistle and Beth Varley. Beth said the timeline was tight, wanted to check budgets and approvals, and asked to come back after reading the written proposal.
What happened: Tom set out Starter for one team (business development), with 15 users, four connectors and a four-week implementation. He quoted twenty-five-five for year one and nineteen-five a year at renewal.
Customer view: Sam asked about connectors and renewal pricing. Beth asked about data timing, the twelve-month lock-in and termination terms, then said budgets and approvals made the timeline tight.
Commercial: The call sets 90 days' notice, 30-day payment terms and 99.5% availability. Starter has no urgent SLA, only a response aimed at within a business day.
Watch: No commitment was made. Tom promised a written proposal the next day, so this stays an open proposal until paper is signed.

Transcript
- Tom AshdownHi Sam, Beth. How are we? Good to get you both on.
- Sam EntwistleHi Tom. All good here. Ready when you are.
- Beth VarleyYes, let's get going.
- Tom AshdownRight. So we've had a couple of chats about the brain and how it could help you join up your sales system, your production orders, and your finance. Today I want to walk you through what that actually looks like in practice and what the commercial terms are.
- Tom AshdownSo Starter tier is the right fit for you. You've got one team: business development. That's your typical use case. You get fifteen users, four connectors, search and chat, and a six-monthly check-in with our support team. Implementation is four weeks, and the all-in price for year one is twenty-five-five.
- Sam EntwistleWalk me through the connectors. What are we plugging into?
- Tom AshdownSo we'd set up Salesforce for your pipeline and customers, your ERP for production orders and timelines, your accounting system for invoices and payments. That's three connectors. You've got one more if you want to add something else. Could be a helpdesk, could be email archives, whatever makes sense.
- Beth VarleyAnd how quickly does the data come through?
- Tom AshdownEvery night. We refresh by seven in the morning, so when your team comes in, they're working with yesterday's data. For operational decisions, that's fresh enough.
- Sam EntwistleOkay, good. And the Starter tier, at renewal, what are we looking at?
- Tom AshdownSo the twenty-five-five is bundled implementation and discounted year one. When you renew, it's nineteen-five a year for the subscription. You'll get ninety days' notice, we'll have had a couple of check-ins by then. If you want to add users or move to Growth, we can talk about that too.
- Beth VarleySo we're locked into twelve months?
- Tom AshdownYes. Twelve-month contract with a renewal option. If something changes for you, we can chat about it. Generally, people see value and stick with it.
- Sam EntwistleFair. And support, if we hit a snag?
- Tom AshdownStarter comes with standard support: email and a helpdesk. We aim for a response within a business day on most things. It's not urgent SLA stuff, but we take care of people.
- Beth VarleyWhat's the contract itself look like? Any termination penalties or?
- Tom AshdownIt's all in the order form and our MSA: fairly standard stuff. Twelve-month term, you get thirty days to pay invoices, we've got an availability guarantee of ninety-nine point five percent. Nothing unusual.
- Sam EntwistleAlright. And timeline: if we wanted to get going, when could we start?
- Tom AshdownOnce you've signed, we'd kick off within a week or two. Four weeks of implementation, so you'd be live by end of October.
- Beth VarleyThat's tight. We've got budgets and approvals to think about. Can I come back to you?
- Tom AshdownCourse. I'll send over a written proposal with all the details: price, terms, timeline, the lot. Have a read, chat internally, let me know what questions come up.
- Sam EntwistleSounds good.
- Tom AshdownI'll get it to you tomorrow. Give it a few days and then get back in touch if you're ready to move forward or if there's anything you want to clarify.
- Beth VarleyWill do. Cheers, Tom.
- Tom AshdownCheers, all. Speak soon.
