What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Emma Illingworth and Ian Walsh saw a demo on 31 Jul 2023. Emma called it pretty compelling. They have no Snowflake account yet, so the build and ownership questions led, and a proposal was promised.
What happened: Nell Ashcombe and Tobias Renwick demoed the brain to Emma Illingworth, Head of Client Services, and Ian Walsh, Sales Manager. It was a first demo, with a proposal as the agreed next step.
Customer view: Emma and Ian asked about data ownership, how current the data is, who maintains it and how long setup takes. Emma ended with "This is pretty compelling actually."
Commercial: The scope discussed was Starter at fifteen users with four weeks of setup. Nell mentioned Growth for more dashboards but chose not to push it.
Watch: The customer has no Snowflake account, so BG-Demo would set one up and handle most of it. The evidence does not show whether other decision-makers were involved.

Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Nell Ashcombe sends Emma Illingworth and Ian Walsh a proposal with scope and cost by the end of the week.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- The customer has no Snowflake account, so the setup and the ownership of the account depend on BG-Demo handling it for them.
- Only two customer people attended, so the evidence does not show who signs off the purchase.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Growth could follow if the team wants more dashboards beyond the fifteen Starter users.
- Emma's positive reaction suggests a proposal could move quickly.
Transcript
- Nell AshcombeThanks for being here, Emma, Ian. Tobias is our CTO and he's built the thing, so he'll walk you through how it works. Before we start, Tobias, any security things you need from them?
- Tobias RenwickNot today. Just want to check: do you have Snowflake already, or would this be a new account?
- Emma IllingworthWe don't, no.
- Tobias RenwickRight. So what happens is we'd set up a Snowflake account for you, and the brain sits in there. Your Salesforce, helpdesk, all of it, the connectors pull the data in daily. You keep the keys, so only you can see it. The trade-off is you're managing a Snowflake account, but in practice that's just us handling most of it for you.
- Ian WalshAnd we own the data?
- Tobias RenwickTo be precise, you own the account, the data is in your environment. We have access to set things up, but you can revoke it anytime. The data's yours.
- Nell AshcombeOkay. Let me show you what it looks like. So I'm in your Snowflake account and this is the brain. I can search for things or ask questions. Let's say Ian asks: show me the projects where the client is unpaid invoices outstanding.
- Nell AshcombeAnd it brings back projects, client name, outstanding invoice totals, the lot. It's pulling from Salesforce and your accounting system at once.
- Emma IllingworthHow current is that data?
- Tobias RenwickData refreshes nightly. So by 07:00 every morning, everything from the day before is in there. Transactions, emails, phone calls if you're recording those, all fresh.
- Ian WalshAnd I just type a question like that? I don't need to know SQL or anything?
- Nell AshcombeRight. English. And you get charts, tables, whatever. You can also save these as dashboards that the team can use. Let me show you.
- Nell AshcombeThis is a dashboard someone built: revenue by client, quarter to date, and colour-coded by status. You can set this up in a couple of minutes without touching code.
- Emma IllingworthHow many people can use this?
- Nell AshcombeStarter tier is fifteen users. So consultants, finance, anyone who needs to ask questions.
- Ian WalshWhat if we want to add more later?
- Nell AshcombeYou can add users anytime. There's also a Growth tier if you want more dashboards and some other features, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
- Tobias RenwickQuestions on the technical side?
- Emma IllingworthWho maintains it? What if something goes wrong?
- Tobias RenwickWe monitor it and we fix it. If a connector breaks, say Salesforce changes something, we notice and we fix it. You've got support channels and we're here if something's wrong.
- Ian WalshHow long does setup actually take?
- Nell AshcombeFour weeks. We'd connect your systems, test it, make sure the data looks right. Then we'd do a short training session with your team.
- Emma IllingworthAnd this is definitely housed in our own Snowflake?
- Tobias RenwickYour Snowflake account. Your data. The honest answer is we're just the layer on top that makes it queryable. The data lives where it always has, inside your own account.
- Nell AshcombeAny other questions?
- Emma IllingworthI think we're good. This is pretty compelling actually.
- Nell AshcombeGreat. So next we'd draft a proposal with the scope and the cost. I'll get that over to you by end of the week and we can talk through it. Sound good?
- Emma IllingworthYeah, perfect.
- Nell AshcombeCheers, both.
