Current to 13 Oct 26Sukhvinder questioned whether Ardenmore was paying for data ingestion on Starter when their team was not running many queries. Callie explained that data ingestion is a fixed Starter tier cost regardless of usage level.
Problem: Sukhvinder expressed value concern during a quiet period, questioning payment for unused data ingestion. Handling: Callie clarified that data ingestion is fixed cost under Starter plan, charged whether or not queries are run, as the brain is built and ready to use. Watch: Renewal signal: customer questioning value of product during inactive period. No plan mentioned to increase usage before renewal on 29 Aug 2024. This is a value risk, not billing risk. Usage appears low and may remain so if adoption is not driven.

- created · Sukhvinder Dhillon 23 Oct 2023 14:47I've received an invoice and want to check a couple of things before processing it. The contract runs through to 29 Aug 2024. Our team is heading into a quiet period and I want to make sure we're not paying for capacity we won't use. Can you walk me through what we're being charged for?
- public_reply · Callie Brennan 23 Oct 2023 15:23Hi Sukhvinder, happy to help. Just so I've got this right, you're asking about charges on the current invoice? Can you tell me which line items you're unsure about and I'll explain what each one covers. Thanks, Callie
- public_reply · Sukhvinder Dhillon 24 Oct 2023 15:13Yes, that's it. The invoice mentions data ingestion and I'm not clear if we're actually using that, given we're not running many queries against the brain at the moment. Are we paying for data that's just sitting there?
- public_reply · Callie Brennan 24 Oct 2023 15:17Good question. Data ingestion is part of your Starter plan, it's the cost to pull your data from your CRM and other systems into the brain. You're charged for that whether or not you're running queries. The brain's built and ready for when your team picks up usage. That's how the Starter tier works. Thanks, Callie
