Craig Ashwell asked how to record a signed variation order for finance to invoice. Kate explained to add it to the project record, flag it as a variation, and it will sync automatically to the brain for reporting.

Problem: Craig needed guidance on the workflow for variation orders in the project system. Handling: Kate explained clearly: add to project record, flag as variation, sync automatically to brain, then query the brain for reporting.

Hi, we've finished the additional works on a project and the client has signed off the variation order. But I'm not sure how to get it into the system so finance can invoice for it. Which system should I be using, the project system or somewhere else? Craig

Hi Craig, good question. Variations go into the project system, just add them to the project record and make sure they're flagged as variations. They'll sync through to the brain automatically, and then finance can pull them into invoices. If you want to check how your variations are coming through on a report, just ask the brain to show you the project's total variations. Let me know if that covers what you need. Thanks, Kate
