What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Douglas Baird, Chief Operating Officer, wrote to Daniel Okafor on 14 Sep 2026: the tool they moved to falls short on member queries and trustee calls. He asked for an informal talk, with no commitment. Daniel agreed.
Ask: Douglas wants an informal conversation about whether BG-Demo would talk with Lornefield again. He names member queries and trustee calls as the gaps his scheme-relationship managers feel most.
Customer view: he is clear he cannot promise anything on the group's behalf and does not want to hurry. The evidence does not show which tool they moved to or what the earlier arrangements were.
Next: Daniel will ask the account executive to arrange a first conversation and confirm by the end of that week that contact has been made.

- Douglas Baird 14 Sep 2026 15:03Dear Daniel, I hope you are keeping well, and that the team at BG-Demo are too. It has been some months since we last spoke, and I wanted to write to you directly rather than go through anyone else. In fairness, the arrangements we put in place earlier this year were right for the circumstances at the time. Since then, however, we have found that the tool we moved to does not give us what we need on member queries or on trustee calls, and those are the two areas where our scheme-relationship managers feel the gap most. Trustee confidence matters a great deal to us, and I would rather say so plainly. I'd welcome a conversation about whether BG-Demo would be willing to talk with us again. I should be clear that I am not in a position to promise anything on the group's behalf at this stage, and I would not wish to hurry anything. I would simply value an informal discussion about what might be possible. Kind regards, Douglas Baird Chief Operating Officer, Lornefield Pensions Administration
- Daniel Okafor 15 Sep 2026 10:33Dear Douglas, Thank you for your note, and for writing to me directly. It was good to hear from you. We worked closely together in the early days, and I have always thought well of the team at Lornefield. Of course we would be glad to talk again. Member queries and trustee calls are exactly the kind of thing the brain was built to bring together for your relationship managers, so I understand why the gap is being felt. There is no pressure on timing. I'll ask our account executive to get in touch with you to arrange a first conversation, and I'll make sure he has the background from our earlier work together. I'll come back to you by the end of the week to confirm that he has been in touch. Just to close the loop on one point: nothing needs to be decided on your side before we speak. It would simply be a chance to hear how things stand and what would be useful. Best wishes, Daniel
