What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Daniel Okafor asked Douglas Baird for renewal time before the term ends on 2 Apr 2026. Douglas said the group's position is not settled and made no commitment, but welcomed a conversation.
Ask: Daniel asked for January days to discuss the renewal and raised fewer people logging in.
Customer view: Douglas was candid that the group's position is not yet settled and that quieter weeks only partly reflect the holiday. He will make no commitment on the group's behalf.
Next: Daniel is to propose a time in the second week of January, preferably a Tuesday or Wednesday morning.

- Daniel Okafor 30 Dec 2025 12:50Dear Douglas, I hope you had a good Christmas and that the break has been restful. Just to close the loop on where we left things, your current term runs to 2 Apr 2026, and I would like to find a time in the new year for the two of us to talk through the renewal properly. I know the group has its own view on how this should go, and I would rather hear that from you directly than guess at it. Could you let me know which days suit you in January? I'll come back to you by return with a couple of options for the team to join if that helps. How is the team finding it at the moment, by the way? I have noticed fewer people logging in over the last few weeks and wondered whether the holiday period or something else is behind that. Best wishes, Daniel
- Douglas Baird 2 Jan 2026 12:16Dear Daniel, Thank you for your note, and I hope the new year has started well for you. In fairness, I should be candid that the group's position is not yet settled, and I would not wish you to prepare a renewal discussion on the assumption that it is. I would welcome a conversation all the same, as I would value your view on how the brain has been used by the scheme-relationship managers, and I would prefer to hear it from you before anything is decided on our side. On the usage, the quieter weeks do partly reflect the holiday, but I would not want to overstate that. I will not make any commitment on the group's behalf in the meantime. The second week of January is likely to be the most workable for me, preferably a Tuesday or Wednesday morning. If you could propose a time within that week, I will confirm it once I have checked my diary. Kind regards, Douglas Baird
