Marcus Bell sent the Growth renewal notice with a £50k renewal value against £44k now. Finance Director Gareth Whitlam pushed back, citing low usage of the 40 licences, and asked for usage, a cost explanation and his contract options.

Ask: Marcus gave notice that the term ends on 30 Nov 2026 and that the renewal would start on 1 Dec 2026 at the current Growth list price.

Customer view: Gareth is new since the original purchase and will not accept a higher price on the strength of a list price. He wants usage by month and by person, a line-by-line explanation of the increase, and what the contract allows before 30 Nov 2026.

Next: Marcus owes the usage evidence and Tom Ashdown owes the written terms. Gareth has committed to nothing.

Hi Gareth, This is the formal renewal notice for Brackwell Freight's Growth subscription. I've copied in Tom Ashdown, who owns the commercial terms on your account. The key points: - Your current term, at £44,000 a year for 40 users, ends on 30 Nov 2026. - The renewal would start on 1 Dec 2026. - The renewal deal is currently valued at £50,000, reflecting the current list price for the Growth tier. Tom will confirm the detail and the terms in writing. I know you only joined the business after the original purchase, so I'd be glad to go through what the brain does for your teams and what the usage looks like. I've pulled the numbers and can send them over, and I'm happy to jump on a call with you and Tom whenever suits. Thanks, Marcus

Marcus, Thank you for the notice. I have read it and I have a few doubts. You are asking for more than we pay now, for a product that, by my reading, is used by very few of the 40 people we are licensed for. I'm not minded to agree that on the strength of a list price. Before any conversation with Tom, I want three things: - the usage for the last year, by month and by person - a line-by-line explanation of what the increase pays for - confirmation of what the contract allows us to do before 30 Nov 2026 I'm not agreeing to anything yet. If the numbers show the value, I will say so. Gareth Whitlam, Finance Director
