What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Marcus Bell asked Gareth Whitlam for a check-in on usage. Gareth asked whether it was a renewal discussion and wanted usage by person first. Marcus said check-in, sent the summary and set 14:00 the following Wednesday.
Ask: Marcus Bell wanted thirty minutes to take Gareth Whitlam through quarterly usage, live connectors, open support items and how the contract runs to 30 Nov 2026.
Customer view: Gareth, the Finance Director, wants to know whether this is a renewal discussion and wants the numbers by person before anyone presents them. He is not interested in a total across forty licences if most are idle.
Next: Marcus said it is a check-in, attached a per-person usage summary and offered 14:00 on the Wednesday. He also owes a reply to a second note from Gareth, whose content the thread does not show.

- Marcus Bell 20 Jul 2026 15:54Hi Gareth, I'd like to get a check-in in the diary with you now that you've had some time to look at how the brain is used at Brackwell. I've pulled the numbers for the last quarter and I'd like to walk you through them, so you can see what your teams are and aren't doing with it. Happy to jump on a call and share my screen. What I'd like to cover: - usage by team and by depot - the connectors that are live and what they feed - anything open with support - how the contract runs to 30 Nov 2026 and what you would want to see before then Shall we book thirty minutes? Thursday or Friday this week would suit me, otherwise any day next week. Thanks, Marcus
- Gareth Whitlam 21 Jul 2026 16:46Marcus, Thank you. A few questions before I agree to a slot. What is this call for? A check-in, or the start of a renewal discussion? I would rather know which. You say you've pulled the numbers. Send them first. I would like to read them before anyone presents them to me. In particular: who is asking questions of the brain, and how often? I'm not interested in a total across forty licences if most of them are idle. I can do Wednesday afternoon next week. Not this week. Gareth Whitlam, Finance Director
- Marcus Bell 24 Jul 2026 15:48Hi Gareth, Fair questions, and thanks for being direct. To answer the first one plainly: it's a check-in, not a renewal negotiation. The renewal conversation is one for Tom Ashdown and me to have with you nearer the time, and I want you to have the facts in front of you before that happens. The usage summary is attached, as you asked. I've broken it down by person rather than giving you a headline total, so you can see who is asking questions, how often, and which connectors are loading. Wednesday afternoon next week works for me. I'll send an invite for 14:00, thirty minutes, and we can use it to go through whatever you've flagged after reading the summary. I've also seen your other note from earlier today. I'll reply to that properly on Monday so it gets a proper answer and not a rushed one. Thanks, Marcus
