What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Demo to Dawn Hindle and Ashleigh Nuttall, who want payroll and client headcount trends in one place. Priya Raman quoted £26k for year one, but the go-live and signing dates she gave do not line up.
What happened: Hannah Lowe ran the brain on a demo set of payroll and client data. Three connectors were discussed: the payroll system, the client database and support tickets.
Customer view: Ashleigh wants headcount trends by client, growing or shrinking. Dawn wants a clearer view of how clients use Irwell's services, and both accepted the setup and security review steps as reasonable.
Commercial: Priya quoted £26k for the first year, covering the four-week implementation and the annual subscription. Starter includes fifteen users and four connectors, and Hannah said most payroll and HR customers start with four or five users.
Watch: Priya's timeline is inconsistent, with go-live promised before the signing target. The managing director was not on this call, and the evidence does not show a decision.

Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Priya Raman to send the proposal and questionnaire later that week.
- Hannah Lowe to put the questionnaire in writing and send it to the customer.
- Irwell to arrange Snowflake admin access and share payroll, client and support-ticket schema details.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Priya's go-live and signing dates conflict, which could undermine trust in the implementation timeline.
- No senior decision-maker attended the demo, so budget approval is untested.
- The evidence does not show a buying decision or a signed order form.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Three connectors fit within Starter's four, leaving room for one more source later.
- Interest in support-ticket queries suggests the support connector could prove value early.
Transcript
- Priya RamanHi everyone, thanks for joining. I'm Priya, and this is Hannah, our solutions engineer. We're really excited to walk you through the brain today and show you how it works with your data.
- Dawn HindleHi, great. We're looking forward to seeing what this can do for us. We've had a few challenges keeping our finger on the pulse of how our services are being used by clients.
- Hannah LoweThat's brilliant. Before I dive in, I'd love to know, what's the thing you most want to solve today? Are you thinking about this from an operations angle, or is it more about client trends and headcount?
- Ashleigh NuttallA bit of both, really. Our team would like to pull data from our payroll system and see trends about clients: like how many people are on their payroll, whether that's growing or shrinking, that sort of thing.
- Hannah LowePerfect. That's exactly what we built this for. So what I'll do is show you the brain running on a demo set of your payroll and client data. You can ask it questions in natural language, and it pulls the answers from all your systems in one place.
- Hannah LoweTo be precise: the brain lives in your Snowflake account, so your data never leaves your warehouse. We're just building a query layer on top.
- Priya RamanAnd I'll just say: to keep momentum going: the plan would be we'd get you live in a four-week implementation, and you'd be up and running in August if we can get this over the line by 1 November.
- Hannah LoweSo let me share my screen. What you're seeing now is the brain's chat interface. You can type a question like 'show me my top ten clients by headcount' and it returns the answer with a table you can drill into.
- Hannah LoweThe brain has connectors to your payroll system, your client database, and your support tickets. Ashleigh, are those the systems you'd want to plug in?
- Ashleigh NuttallYeah, definitely the payroll system and the client database. We'd probably want support tickets too, that's a good way to spot if a client's unhappy.
- Hannah LoweBrilliant. That's three connectors. We can include those, and we've got room for one more if you want to add something later. Let me walk you through what a real question looks like. I'm going to ask the brain for a list of clients with a rise in headcount over the last quarter.
- Hannah LoweSo there's your result. You can see it's pulled the data, and there's a breakdown by client name and headcount change. That's live from your systems every night, the brain refreshes by seven in the morning, so you've always got yesterday's data.
- Dawn HindleOkay, and if I had a question like 'which clients haven't had any support tickets in the last month', could I ask it that way?
- Hannah LoweThe short answer is yes. The longer answer is we'd need to train your team on what questions work best, that's part of the implementation. We do a training session in week two, and then your team can experiment. Most teams find it pretty intuitive.
- Ashleigh NuttallHow many people can use it? Is it just for my team?
- Hannah LoweWith a Starter licence, you get fifteen users. That's fifteen people who can log in and ask questions or build simple dashboards. Most of our payroll and HR customers use about four or five to start, so you've got room to grow.
- Priya RamanSo it's £25,500 for the first year all-in, that covers the four-week implementation and the annual subscription.
- Priya RamanIf we can get the paperwork done before we get to November, we can get you live in early August, ready for the back half of the year.
- Ashleigh NuttallThat sounds pretty good. What would you need from us to get started?
- Hannah LoweA few things. We'd need admin access to your Snowflake account, that's where the brain lives. We'd need to understand your payroll, client database and support-ticket schemas. I can send you a questionnaire; it shouldn't take more than an hour to fill in.
- Hannah LoweAnd we'd run a brief security review to make sure you're comfortable with where your data sits. Nothing too heavy on Starter, just a few questions about your controls.
- Ashleigh NuttallFine. Yeah, that's all reasonable.
- Priya RamanGreat. So next steps: I'll send you a proposal and the questionnaire later this week. You can review it, and happy to make this easy, if you've got questions, give me a call. We want to keep momentum going. Shall we aim to have everything signed before we get to November?
- Priya RamanThat gives us six weeks to run the security review and sort out access before we kick off the implementation.
- Dawn HindleThat sounds sensible. Thanks for walking us through it.
- Hannah LoweThanks for the time, and I'll put the questionnaire in writing and send it along to you.
- Priya RamanCheers, both. Great to meet you.
