What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026On 9 Jun 2026 Delancey Haig's CTO confirmed the subscription ends with the contract on Thursday 2 Jul 2026. The reason given is build versus buy. The call was a tidy handover plan, not a rescue.
What happened: Kwame Asante, Chief Technology Officer, said the decision was made and the subscription ends with the contract. Daniel Okafor and Laura Penhaligon walked through what stays in the customer's Snowflake account and what stops.
Customer view: Kwame said it was a build-versus-buy conclusion, with praise for the connectors and support. Holly Tranter said the directors went back to their own reports and use had thinned.
Commercial: Daniel said the account is up to date, with invoices matching the order form at £44k a year and 40 licensed users lapsing. He closed by saying the door is open.
Watch: Daniel owes a written note on what BG-Demo retains and the handover pack with the dashboard export. The tables become a snapshot once the nightly jobs stop.

Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Daniel Okafor to give Holly Tranter the handover pack date and a written note on retained data by the Friday after the call.
- Laura Penhaligon to send the handover note with role names, credential list and the dashboard and page export.
- Daniel Okafor to confirm in writing that access ends on Thursday 2 Jul 2026.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- The subscription, including 40 licensed users, ends with the contract on Thursday 2 Jul 2026 and the customer will run its own stack.
- Tables stop refreshing after the last nightly run, so reports built on them become a snapshot.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- The customer left the door open and praised the connectors and support, so a later win-back is possible if its own build falls short.
Transcript
- Daniel OkaforHello, good afternoon both. Thank you for making the time. Can you hear me alright?
- Holly TranterYes, loud and clear. Afternoon Daniel.
- Daniel OkaforLovely. I think I can see Kwame on the list as well, and Laura should be joining from our side. Just checking who has joined before we start.
- Kwame AsanteI'm here. Afternoon. Before anything else, do you have the architecture diagram to hand? I'd like to see where each piece sits.
- Daniel OkaforWe do, Laura has it ready. Laura, are you with us?
- Laura PenhaligonAfternoon, yes. Sorry, new headset, I was fighting the settings. Give me a second and I'll put the diagram up.
- Holly TranterNo problem. It's been that sort of week, hasn't it, with the heat in the office.
- Daniel OkaforMm, it's been warm, hasn't it. Right, so just to close the loop on where we are. Kwame, you let us know that Delancey Haig will be running this in house, and that the subscription will end with the contract. I want to say first that we completely understand, and today is really about making the handover tidy for your team.
- Kwame AsanteThank you, Daniel. Yes, that's right. The decision's made, and it's a build-versus-buy conclusion for us, nothing more than that. We want a small number of platforms my team can run directly. So what I need today is clarity. Where does the data live, what stays with us, and what stops, and when.
- Daniel OkaforThat's exactly the right list. Laura, would you take the first part, because you built most of it.
- Laura PenhaligonSure. Can everyone see the diagram? So the important thing is the big box on the left. That's your Snowflake account. BG-Demo runs inside it, we don't hold a separate copy of your data somewhere else. Everything the connectors loaded, the tables, the structures we built on top, all of that sits in schemas in your account, under your ownership.
- Kwame AsanteGood. So when your access ends, those tables are simply still there.
- Laura PenhaligonYes. They stay exactly as they are at that point. They just stop being refreshed.
- Kwame AsanteRight. And that includes the combined view per client. Vacancies, placements, invoices, complaints.
- Laura PenhaligonThe underlying tables and the joined model, yes. That's the part Holly's team will probably get the most use from. What goes away is the service layer on top. The chat, the search, the pages and the dashboards builder. Those run as our application, so they stop when the subscription ends.
- Holly TranterSorry, can I check something on the pages? Some of the client account directors built quite a lot of pages, and dashboards. Is the content of those something we can keep, or does it go with the application?
- Laura PenhaligonGood question. The definitions of the dashboards and the text of the pages are held with the application, so they wouldn't carry on working by themselves. But I can export them into a document and a set of files for you, so at least the queries and the layouts are not lost. Your team could rebuild the dashboards in whatever tool you choose.
- Holly TranterThat would be really useful. Honestly the queries are what I'd want. The directors will ask me where their view went.
- Daniel OkaforI'll make a note of that, Holly. Laura, shall we say the export comes with the handover note?
- Laura PenhaligonYes, it can go in the same pack. I'll aim to have it with you next week, and Daniel will confirm.
- Daniel OkaforI'll come back to you by Friday with the date, so you're not left guessing.
- Kwame AsanteFine. Now the timing. When does BG-Demo's access to our account actually end?
- Daniel OkaforOur access ends on Thursday 2 Jul 2026. That's the last day of the contract term. The renewal would have started the day after, on 3 Jul 2026, and we won't be going into that period.
- Kwame AsanteSo nothing runs on the third.
- Daniel OkaforNothing runs on the third, no. Laura, can you walk them through what happens to the connectors in the run up?
- Laura PenhaligonYes. So the connectors keep doing their nightly refresh as they do now. The last full refresh will be the night before our access ends. Then on Thursday 2 Jul 2026 the connector jobs are switched off and our service role is removed from your account. After that, nothing of ours can touch your data.
- Holly TranterIs it all of them on the same day? We've got the CRM, the accounting system, the helpdesk and the document store all connected.
- Laura PenhaligonAll on the same day. I thought about staggering them, but honestly a clean single cut is easier to reason about. One thing I would suggest though is that on your side, you revoke the service credentials we were given in each of those systems. Once our access ends, there's no reason for those to stay live.
- Holly TranterYes, I'd have done that anyway, but it's helpful to have it on a list. Could you send me which credentials, which systems?
- Laura PenhaligonIt'll be in the handover note, system by system, with the account name that was used for each. You'll be able to tick them off.
- Kwame AsanteI'd like that. And I'll be honest, I don't take anyone's word on access. Holly, once the date has passed, I want you to verify in Snowflake directly that the roles and grants are gone, not just rely on a confirmation email.
- Holly TranterOf course. I'll run the grants query on the day and the morning after.
- Daniel OkaforThat's entirely sensible, Kwame, and we'd rather you did. Laura can include the exact role names so Holly knows what to look for.
- Laura PenhaligonYes, I'll list them, and the objects we created, so there's a clear picture of what was ours and what was yours.
- Kwame AsanteGood. Now, anything BG-Demo holds outside our account. Logs, copies, anything like that.
- Daniel OkaforRight. Let me be careful here, because I don't want to guess. The data itself was never moved out of your account, that part I'm sure of. For anything else, such as support records and the usage information about how the product was used, I'd like to give you a written answer rather than a spoken one. I'll put that to our team and come back to you by Friday as well.
- Kwame AsanteWritten is what I want. A short note on what is retained, for how long, and confirmation of deletion where it applies.
- Daniel OkaforUnderstood. I'll make sure it's in plain terms.
- Holly TranterCan I ask a practical one? Between now and the second, do we carry on as normal? Should I be telling people to stop using it, or should they keep going?
- Daniel OkaforKeep going if they find it useful. Nothing changes until the end of the term. Everything works as it does today, and if anything breaks between now and then, tell us and we'll fix it, that doesn't change because the relationship is ending.
- Holly TranterOkay. That's good to know. Honestly not many people have been in it lately.
- Daniel OkaforYes, I had noticed the numbers were quieter. How is the team finding it, those that are still using it?
- Holly TranterIt's a few of us now, really. The directors went back to the reports we've been building ourselves in the last couple of months, and once that happened it was hard to get them back. It wasn't that the brain was wrong, it just wasn't the first place they looked.
- Daniel OkaforThat's useful for us to hear, thank you. And it's a fair thing to say plainly.
- Kwame AsanteIf I can add, it's not a criticism of what was delivered. The connectors were solid and the support was good. We simply want to own the stack, and my team can do that now.
- Daniel OkaforThat's kind, Kwame, and I'll pass it to the team. Laura, I think you'd like to hear that.
- Laura PenhaligonI do, thank you. It was a good build to work on, honestly. Holly was brilliant at chasing down the odd source that misbehaved.
- Holly TranterHa, thanks. There was the one that kept timing out.
- Laura PenhaligonThat's the one. Anyway. Shall I cover what the data will look like after the cut, so your team isn't surprised?
- Kwame AsantePlease.
- Laura PenhaligonSo the tables will carry on holding the last refresh. Nothing is deleted, nothing is marked. But because the nightly jobs stop, any new vacancy, placement or invoice in the source systems won't arrive. If somebody queries those tables a month from now they'd be looking at a snapshot. Worth putting a note on any report built from them, so nobody thinks it's live.
- Holly TranterYes, I'd label it clearly. Or we repoint things at the sources directly. We'll decide that internally.
- Kwame AsanteWe will. Where possible I want my team pulling from source into a model we define, rather than depending on a snapshot. But the snapshot is a useful reference to check our own work against.
- Laura PenhaligonThat's a good use for it, actually. You can compare your new model's output with ours for a few clients and see where they differ.
- Kwame AsanteExactly the plan. Can I ask on the commercial side, so there's no ambiguity? Is there anything outstanding from us?
- Daniel OkaforNo. The account is up to date, nothing overdue, and the invoices match the order form for the term, the £44k a year. There won't be any further invoice from us after this term.
- Kwame AsanteGood. And the forty licensed users, those simply lapse at the end.
- Daniel OkaforThey do. On the second the licences end, along with the access.
- Holly TranterCan I just check one thing I'm not clear on. If someone logs in on the third, what do they see?
- Laura PenhaligonThey'd get a sign-in that no longer works, or a message that the service has ended, depending on how they come in. Nothing alarming. It might be worth a short note to staff beforehand, so nobody raises a ticket with you about it.
- Holly TranterI'll draft something for the directors. Can I show you the wording before it goes out? Just so it's accurate about dates.
- Daniel OkaforOf course, send it over and we'll check the dates for you. Happy to.
- Kwame AsanteOne more from me, and then I'm happy. Should anything go wrong on the day, who is the contact? Holly shouldn't be chasing a mailbox.
- Daniel OkaforMe, and Laura. We'll both be around on the second, and that's a promise I can make, since it's our own diaries. I'd rather you called us than found something strange on your own.
- Laura PenhaligonYes. I'll be watching the last refresh the night before, so if it doesn't complete, you'll hear from me before you hear it from anyone else.
- Kwame AsanteAppreciated. Then I think the picture is clear. Summarise the actions for me so I have them on one list.
- Daniel OkaforOf course. So, from our side. Laura sends the handover note: the objects in your Snowflake account, the role names, the system by system list of credentials, and the export of the page content and dashboard definitions. I come back to you by Friday with the date for that, and with the written note on anything BG-Demo retains and how it's deleted. And I'll confirm in writing that access ends on Thursday 2 Jul 2026.
- Holly TranterAnd from us, I revoke the service credentials in the source systems once the connectors have stopped, then run the grants check on the day and the morning after. And I'll send you the wording for the directors.
- Kwame AsanteAnd I'll decide how my team takes over the model. That part's ours.
- Daniel OkaforThat's everything as I have it. Is there anything we've missed?
- Holly TranterNot from me. Actually, maybe, can you leave the diagram with us? I'd like it for the internal documentation.
- Laura PenhaligonYes, I'll put it in the handover pack. It's already accurate for your account, so it'll be ready to use.
- Daniel OkaforKwame, anything else?
- Kwame AsanteNo, that's what I needed. Thank you both, it's been handled professionally.
- Daniel OkaforThank you, that means a lot. And Holly, thank you for all the work since the go-live. We've valued working with you. If things change in the future, you know where we are, and the door is always open.
- Holly TranterThanks Daniel. I'll shout if there's anything before the second.
- Daniel OkaforPlease do. Right, enjoy the rest of your afternoon. Best wishes, all of you.
- Laura PenhaligonBye both, speak soon.
- Kwame AsanteGoodbye. Kwame.
