What this says

As at Fri 9 Oct 2026

Chris Riley saw a demo built on Ashlowe sample data and called it impressive. He asked about freshness, access control, connectors, support and security, and agreed to a scoping call before a proposal.

What happened: Hannah Lowe demoed a brain built on sample Ashlowe data, with Lewis Kerr present. Chris Riley asked his own question and got patient visits by clinic back at once.

Customer view: Chris said "Okay, that's impressive." His questions were about data freshness, access control, connectors, support and healthcare security, plus what happens to the data on exit.

Commercial: Hannah pointed to Growth: five connectors, the dashboards builder, up to forty users and a one hour response. No price was quoted. Nightly refresh by 07:00 was set out as the standard.

Watch: Neil Bancroft was not on this call. Healthcare security is a live concern, and a security review was offered.

Hi Chris, thanks for making time this morning. I've brought Hannah from our solutions team. Hannah, this is Chris Riley, Head of Data at Ashlowe. Hannah will walk you through how the system works on your own data.
  2. Hannah Lowe
    Hannah Lowe
Hi Chris, great to meet you. So what I've done is I've taken some sample data from your systems, with your permission, and built a quick instance of the brain so you can see how it works. Fair point to say this is just a demo; the real thing will have all your data and all your systems connected. But this should give you a sense of the experience.
  3. Chris Riley
    Chris Riley
Perfect. What are we looking at?
  4. Hannah Lowe
    Hannah Lowe
Right, so here's the interface. It's quite simple. You've got a search box at the top, that's where you ask questions in plain English. You've got a chat pane on the left for conversational queries, and then dashboards, we can build those or users can build their own if they want. I'm going to show you some example questions that Neil mentioned when we spoke: cash flow, invoice status, clinic utilisation. Let me start with a simple one. Watch the search box.
  5. Hannah Lowe
    Hannah Lowe
So I type 'show me outstanding invoices over thirty days'. And what you'll see is it queries across your billing system, pulls the relevant records, and gives you the answer. No SQL, no database knowledge needed. You can drill down, filter, export. Try it yourself, what would you like to know about your patient data?
  6. Chris Riley
    Chris Riley
Okay, so let me ask, um...'how many patient visits did we have by clinic last month?'
  7. Hannah Lowe
    Hannah Lowe
Good, so I'm typing that in. And in about half a second, here you go. Patient visits by clinic, last month. Your largest clinic did three hundred and twenty visits, smallest did about ninety. You can see it's broken down by location. That data came from your patient management system. The short answer is: if you had to go and ask for that report manually, Neil's team would probably need an hour or two. You just got the answer in real time.
  8. Chris Riley
    Chris Riley
Okay, that's impressive. What happens if the data changes? How fresh is it?
  9. Hannah Lowe
    Hannah Lowe
Right. So the longer answer is that we refresh every night from your systems. That means by seven o'clock in the morning, all your data from the previous day is loaded and ready to query. It's not real-time streaming, it's nightly, but for most business use cases that's fine. If you're an Enterprise customer and you need live data, we have a different refresh model. But for Ashlowe, nightly is the standard.
  10. Chris Riley
    Chris Riley
And who can see what? Is there access control?
  11. Hannah Lowe
    Hannah Lowe
Absolutely. You control who has access to what data. So you could give Neil access to finance data and invoicing, give your ops team access to clinic metrics and staffing, and they'd only see what you've authorised them to see. It's all governed by you in your Snowflake account.
  12. Chris Riley
    Chris Riley
Good. What about the connectors? You mentioned we'd have multiple data sources plugged in.
  13. Hannah Lowe
    Hannah Lowe
Right. To be precise, we've got pre-built connectors for most common systems. For you, I'd expect we'd plug in your patient management system, your billing system, Xero, Salesforce, probably your call system too. That's five connectors. Each one pulls data nightly and loads it into your Snowflake. Once they're all live, you query across all of it. Let me show you what a dashboard looks like.
  14. Hannah Lowe
    Hannah Lowe
So here's a sample dashboard. This one's showing clinic utilisation. You've got patient volume trends, staff utilisation by location, average wait times. You could build one like this, or your team could build their own in the dashboarding builder. On Starter, that's the lower tier, you don't get the builder. But on Growth, which I think makes sense for you, you do. Users can create their own dashboards without touching code.
  15. Chris Riley
    Chris Riley
So how many people could actually use this?
  16. Hannah Lowe
    Hannah Lowe
Growth tier includes up to forty users. Again, that's a soft limit, a few more won't break anything, but it's where you'd typically think about expanding. You said you had maybe five or six people in finance and ops who'd benefit. So you've got plenty of headroom.
  17. Chris Riley
    Chris Riley
Okay. And if something goes wrong?
  18. Hannah Lowe
    Hannah Lowe
You raise a ticket, we respond within an hour on Growth. If a connector stops loading data, say your patient management system changes its API, we'd investigate and fix it. That's on us.
  19. Chris Riley
    Chris Riley
Good. What about security and compliance? We're healthcare, so we need to be careful.
  20. Hannah Lowe
    Hannah Lowe
That's important. The short answer is: you own the infrastructure, you own the data, you control access. We're not a cloud vendor sitting on top of your data. We're a data layer inside your own Snowflake account. Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest, audit logs are enabled, access is logged. We can do a full security review with you if you want: we do that for all Enterprise customers, and we can do it for Growth too.
  21. Chris Riley
    Chris Riley
That's reassuring. One more thing, if you stop using the system, what happens to the data?
  22. Hannah Lowe
    Hannah Lowe
It stays in your Snowflake account. It's your infrastructure, your data. If you leave, the data is still there, still yours. We just remove our query layer.
  23. Chris Riley
    Chris Riley
Perfect. I think I've got a good feel for it. When would we move from demo to proposal?
  24. Lewis Kerr
    Lewis Kerr
Good question. I think Hannah and I need to sit down and scope out the exact data architecture: which connectors, which fields you want indexed, what the implementation timeline looks like. That's maybe another hour with your team. Once we've done that, I can put together a proper proposal with pricing and timeline.
  25. Chris Riley
    Chris Riley
How long does that scoping take?
  26. Lewis Kerr
    Lewis Kerr
We can do it next week if you're keen. And then I'd come back to you within a few days with a formal proposal.
  27. Chris Riley
    Chris Riley
    Yeah, let's do that.
  28. Hannah Lowe
    Hannah Lowe
I'll send over a technical questionnaire so we're ready for the scoping call. Should only take you a few minutes to fill in.
  29. Chris Riley
    Chris Riley
    Great. Thanks both.
  30. Lewis Kerr
    Lewis Kerr
    Cheers, Chris. Speak soon.
