What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Neil Metcalfe confirmed the Growth proposal price, support terms and payment options, and said Luke had approved going ahead. Signing was agreed for the end of January, with the order form to follow from Tom Ashdown.
What happened: Tom Ashdown walked Neil Metcalfe through the Growth proposal on 17 Jan 2025. Neil's questions covered implementation slippage, support, data freshness, price, payment and user numbers.
Customer view: Neil said both he and Luke think the proposal is solid. He closed by saying Luke had approved proceeding and that they would sign by the end of the month.
Commercial: The first year was confirmed as £56k, made up of £12k implementation and £44k subscription. Neil asked about starting with eight users rather than forty, and was told the price is the same under the Growth tier.
Watch: The freshness question shows the customer cares about stale data, and Growth carries a refresh commitment but no freshness credit. The proposal is still open until an executed order form exists, which this call does not show.

Transcript
- Tom AshdownNeil, thanks for getting back to me. Luke's had a look at the proposal, yeah?
- Neil MetcalfeYeah, he's had a read. Both of us think it's solid. A couple of small questions though.
- Tom AshdownNo problem, what's on your mind?
- Neil MetcalfeSo on the implementation, the eight weeks. What if we hit a snag with IT approval or something? Do we get a credit or does the go-live just slip?
- Tom AshdownGood question. The eight weeks starts from the day you sign. If IT takes longer than normal, the timeline slips, we'd give you visibility straight away. There's no penalty, it just depends on how quickly your IT can move.
- Neil MetcalfeOK, that makes sense. And support, you mentioned one business hour first response for Growth. What's the full story on that?
- Tom AshdownSo Growth gets one business hour first response for anything that's a problem. Availability's ninety-nine point five percent, if we breach that, you get five percent of a month's fee as a credit. And you've got me and Hannah as your named contacts.
- Neil MetcalfeThat's helpful. What about data freshness? Like, if the data goes stale, is there a guarantee on that?
- Tom AshdownGood question. With Growth, the brain refreshes every night by seven in the morning your local time, so fresh data every business day. If we miss that, Enterprise users would get credited, but with Growth we just commit to the refresh happening.
- Neil MetcalfeOK. And price, is fifty-six thousand for the first year all-in? That's twelve for implementation and forty-four for the annual sub, yeah?
- Tom AshdownThat's exactly right. Twelve thousand implementation, forty-four thousand annual sub. So fifty-six total, first year. And the renewal, if you stay on Growth, would be the list price going forward, which is forty-four thousand a year.
- Neil MetcalfePayment terms, upfront, or can we do quarterly?
- Tom AshdownUpfront for the first year. If you want to split it quarterly, say fourteen thousand a quarter, we can do that for cash flow purposes. But we need the full fifty-six by end of Q1.
- Neil MetcalfeThat's fine. How quickly do you need a signed order form?
- Tom AshdownIdeally this month, January, so we can get started on the security review and the connector design. Keeps you on track for a March go-live.
- Neil MetcalfeCan we sign by the end of the month?
- Tom AshdownPerfect. That works. So I'll send you the order form: it's the standard MSA plus the schedule that spells out the scope, the timeline, the connectors. You review it with Luke, get any approvals you need, and send it back signed.
- Neil MetcalfeWhat if Luke or someone else wants to tweak any of the terms?
- Tom AshdownFair game. Anything that's in the proposal is definitely up for discussion. Major changes to scope or timeline, I might need to loop in Owen, our VP Sales, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. What are you thinking of tweaking?
- Neil MetcalfeNot a lot really. Luke just wanted to check, if we went to eight users instead of keeping forty users as the starting point, would the cost change?
- Tom AshdownSo Growth is a tier, forty users is the included limit. If you start with eight, the price is the same. You're not paying per user. What you get is the headroom to grow without renegotiating.
- Neil MetcalfeOK, so we could start with eight and add more later if we need to?
- Tom AshdownExactly. And honestly, once your team starts using the brain, you'll probably want more people in the loop. Customer ops, maybe some of the finance side, they'll want access.
- Neil MetcalfeThat makes sense. All right, I think that's the main stuff. Luke said go ahead and proceed, we'll sign by end of month.
- Tom AshdownBrilliant. I'll get the order form over tomorrow. You and Luke review it, let me know if there's anything you want to change, and then we'll get it signed and get started.
- Neil MetcalfeSounds good. Thanks, Tom.
- Tom AshdownNo worries. Cheers, Neil.
