Mark Cowell and Vicky Brearley described a data team stuck reconciling systems by hand. Tom Ashdown positioned Growth at fifty-six thousand pounds all-in for year one. They asked for a demo on their own data.

What happened: Tom Ashdown ran a discovery call on 13 Jun 2024 with Mark Cowell, Head of Data, and Vicky Brearley, Chief Operating Officer. Tom positioned Growth and quoted fifty-six thousand pounds all-in for the first year.

Customer view: Mark described data spread across Salesforce, the underwriting system, the finance platform and in-house dashboards, reconciled by hand. Vicky wants operations and finance to self-serve instead of queuing for reports.

Commercial: Growth fits several teams, with 40 users and eight connectors. The only commitment asked for was a demo on Gallowmere's own data.

Watch: The call does not show who signs, any rival, or how the customer reacted to the price.

Morning both. How's the week been?
  2. Mark Cowell
    Mark Cowell
Yeah, pretty good thanks. Busy as ever.
  3. Vicky Brearley
    Vicky Brearley
    Good morning, Tom.
  4. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown
Cheers. So Mark, you reached out about how we handle analytics and data. Before I pitch, I'd love to understand what you're grappling with. You're Head of Data, what are the biggest blockers for your team right now?
  5. Mark Cowell
    Mark Cowell
So we've got data scattered across Salesforce, our underwriting system, our finance platform, and some dashboards we've built in-house. The problem is we can't easily answer business questions that span more than one system. Everyone comes to my team asking for a report, we have to manually pull from each platform, reconcile, and send it out. We're doing data-entry work, not analytics.
  6. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown
And Vicky, from the operational side, how does that land?
  7. Vicky Brearley
    Vicky Brearley
It's a resource constraint. Mark's team is constantly firefighting requests that should be self-service. We want people to be able to answer their own questions, operations can look at open cases, finance can track premiums, without coming to data.
  8. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown
That's exactly where the brain comes in. You connect those systems once, and then your teams: operations, finance, underwriting, they just ask in natural language. No SQL, no coding.
  9. Mark Cowell
    Mark Cowell
How do you handle the data integration? Are we talking a massive ETL project?
  10. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown
We do it with you. You give us read-only credentials to each system, and we build the connectors inside your Snowflake environment. The data sits in your account, it refreshes nightly. Takes about eight weeks for a Growth-sized implementation with a few systems.
  11. Mark Cowell
    Mark Cowell
    Growth-sized?
  12. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown
Yeah, so we have different tiers. Starter is for one team, up to four systems. Growth is for multiple teams across a business: you get eight connectors, forty users, and you can build dashboards. Enterprise is company-wide.
  13. Vicky Brearley
    Vicky Brearley
    And what would Growth cost?
  14. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown
Growth tier is fifty-six thousand all-in for your first year. Implementation plus the annual subscription.
  15. Mark Cowell
    Mark Cowell
How many people would that support?
  16. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown
Forty users. That's usually enough for most mid-sized operations: you get your operations team, your finance team, some underwriting and a few power users.
  17. Vicky Brearley
    Vicky Brearley
And after implementation, what does support look like?
  18. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown
Quarterly business reviews with us, dedicated support with a one-hour response time, and we monitor availability at ninety-nine point five percent. Growth tier gets a check-in call every quarter to make sure you're getting value.
  19. Mark Cowell
    Mark Cowell
I'd like to see it working on our data.
  20. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown
Absolutely. Let's get a demo in the diary. I'll need to ask you a few questions about your Salesforce schema and your underwriting data, then we'll build something to show you.
  21. Mark Cowell
    Mark Cowell
    Yeah, we can do that.
  22. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown
Great. I'll send you a questionnaire after this, and let's book a demo for next month. Sound good?
  23. Vicky Brearley
    Vicky Brearley
    Yes, works for us.
  24. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown
Cheers both. I'll get that to you. Speak soon.
