What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Five weeks into a four-week implementation, only the Salesforce connector is live. Ian Brearley says the delay is on Copperlane's side. Hamza Akhtar agreed a checklist and a Salesforce training call.
What happened: Hamza Akhtar checked progress on the implementation. The Salesforce connector has run for a couple of weeks, but the invoicing system, helpdesk and HR data connectors have not progressed.
Customer view: Ian Brearley says the blocker is Copperlane's own focus, not BG-Demo. Rebecca Nuttall ties it to a busy payroll quarter and says time can be allocated once it settles.
Commercial: The work was scoped as a four-week implementation and is now past that window. Connector depth drives early value, so the delay is a risk to adoption and to the first renewal.
Watch: Ian would not promise the connectors by next week. Rebecca welcomed training on Salesforce, which gives a route to early adoption.

Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Hamza Akhtar sends Ian Brearley a checklist for the invoicing system, helpdesk and HR data by the next day.
- Ian Brearley makes what progress he can on API access over the next fortnight.
- Hamza Akhtar sets up a Salesforce training call for the team towards the end of July.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Three of four connectors are not started and the four-week implementation window has passed.
- Customer time is the constraint and Ian Brearley would not commit to a date.
- Low early value could weaken adoption ahead of the first renewal.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Training on the live Salesforce data can build adoption before the other connectors arrive.
- Rebecca Nuttall is receptive and will allocate time once the quarter settles.
Transcript
- Hamza AkhtarHi Rebecca, Ian. Thanks for making time.
- Ian BrearleyMorning, yeah, no problem.
- Rebecca NuttallHi Hamza. Good to hear from you.
- Hamza AkhtarSo I'm going to do a quick check-in on the implementation. We're about five weeks in now, and I wanted to see where you are with the other three connectors we still need to wire up.
- Ian BrearleyRight, yeah. So we've been running the Salesforce one for a couple of weeks now and it's all working fine, data's flowing. But we haven't made much progress on the other three yet if I'm honest.
- Hamza AkhtarOkay. What's blocking it? Is it something from our side or something you need to sort from your end?
- Ian BrearleyNo, it's on us really. We've just been focused on other stuff. But it's not forgotten, we'll get to it.
- Rebecca NuttallOnce this quarter settles we can allocate some time to it. It's just been quite busy on the payroll side.
- Hamza AkhtarI understand. But we did scope this as a four-week implementation, and we're now past that window. What would help move things forward? Is there something I can do to make it easier for you?
- Ian BrearleyI think it's just time, to be honest. We've got a lot on at the moment. But we will get the API access sorted for the other systems, it's not complicated.
- Hamza AkhtarOkay, so if I sent you a checklist for each of the remaining three: the invoicing system, the helpdesk, and HR data: that spells out exactly what we need, could you have a go at getting those set up in the next week or so?
- Ian BrearleyI can have a crack at it, yeah. Can't promise it'll all be done by next week, but I'll make a start.
- Hamza AkhtarFair enough. And Rebecca, from a team readiness perspective, is there any appetite for getting people trained up on what we've got so far with Salesforce?
- Rebecca NuttallActually, that would be useful. Even if we're not fully live with all the systems yet, getting people comfortable with what they can already do might help drive adoption.
- Hamza AkhtarGood thinking. So let me propose this: I'll send Ian the checklist for the three remaining systems. Ian, you make what progress you can in the next fortnight. And I'll set up a training call for your team on the Salesforce side for maybe end of July, so everyone's up to speed on what they've got access to.
- Ian BrearleyYeah, okay. That works.
- Rebecca NuttallGood plan.
- Hamza AkhtarPerfect. I'll send that checklist over by tomorrow. Cheers, all.
