What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Onboarding call on 12 Jun 2025. Hamza Akhtar agreed with Ian Brearley to create a Salesforce service account and send credentials by Friday. Rebecca Nuttall said the team felt on track and wanted to start asking questions of the data.
What happened: Hamza walked Ian through the Salesforce service account and API access needed. Salesforce is the first of four systems going into the brain.
Customer view: Ian expected no problem and had IT on standby. Rebecca asked whether the team could start asking questions once data was flowing, and said it felt like they were on track.
Commercial: This is early implementation, with no price or renewal talk. Quick first value matters for adoption later.
Watch: Ian is the only hands-on contact, and training is only promised for later in the month.

Transcript
- Hamza AkhtarGood morning, Rebecca, Ian. How's it going?
- Rebecca NuttallHi Hamza, good thanks.
- Ian BrearleyMorning, yeah all good. Got your runbook on Friday, been having a look through it.
- Hamza AkhtarBrilliant. So today I want to walk through the Salesforce connector setup with you, Ian. Just to recap from Monday: we're pulling four systems into the brain to begin with, Salesforce being the first and most important one for you.
- Ian BrearleyYeah, we've got Salesforce fairly central to what we do.
- Hamza AkhtarRight. So what I need from you today is to get the service account created in Salesforce. Have you had a chance to chat with your IT person?
- Ian BrearleyI have, yeah. I've got them on standby. We can loop them in if we hit any blockers, but I think I can get the basics done myself.
- Hamza AkhtarPerfect. So here's what we need: a service account in Salesforce, let's call it something like BG-Demo Integration, and we need API access enabled on that account. I'm going to send you a document with the exact permissions we need, but broadly speaking we need read access to Contacts, Accounts, Opportunities and custom objects if you've got them. Does that sound doable?
- Ian BrearleyYeah, shouldn't be a problem. How long does it typically take once that's set up?
- Hamza AkhtarOnce you give me the credentials, I can have the connector running and pulling data within an hour or two. Then you'll start to see Salesforce records flowing into the brain. The first sync will take a bit longer if you've got a lot of records, but after that it's incremental, so quite quick.
- Ian BrearleyGreat. And if something goes wrong with the sync?
- Hamza AkhtarGood question. So if the connector stops loading data or something breaks, we'll get an alert. You'll see it in the brain, and we'll get notified too, so I can jump in and help diagnose. Usually it's something simple like a password change or a permission being removed.
- Rebecca NuttallWhen we're getting data flowing, can we start asking questions of it?
- Hamza AkhtarAbsolutely. So once the Salesforce data is in and stable, give it a few hours to settle, your team can start using pages and search to ask questions. We'll do a proper training session later in the month to walk everyone through how to actually get value out of it, but yeah, as soon as it's live you can start exploring.
- Rebecca NuttallBrilliant.
- Hamza AkhtarOkay Ian, when are you thinking you can get that service account created? I'd say if you can send me credentials by Friday, I'll have the connector live and pulling data by end of business, ready for next week.
- Ian BrearleyYeah, I'll get on it this week. Friday should be fine, no problem.
- Hamza AkhtarPerfect. I'll also send you a couple of test queries you can run once the data's in, just so you can see how the brain works. Any questions?
- Rebecca NuttallI don't think so. Feels like we're on track.
- Hamza AkhtarGreat. Cheers all, speak soon.
