What this says
Current to 13 Oct 26Graham Tovey said the renewal increase is larger than expected and usage has been softer, and asked what he would be paying for. Tom Ashdown replied the same day with the £120k annual figure, Enterprise list move and a proposed review of figures and usage.
Ask: Graham wants the headline in plain terms before discussing it further: what is new, and how it sits against what the teams actually do with the brain. He copied Mandy Gasson because the ledger side must see any change to the annual figure.
BB-Demo response: Tom said the term runs to 9 Jan 2027 and the renewal moves to the Enterprise list, with Premium support and the Sandbox included. The new annual total is up by just under fourteen per cent, with exact figures to follow in writing.
Next: Tom proposed a meeting the following week to go through figures and usage side by side. He advised against signing until Daniel's usage findings are seen.

- Graham Tovey 1 Sep 2026 10:04Tom, I have read the renewal notice. Before I discuss it with anyone further, I would like the headline in plain terms. The increase is larger than I expected, and I understand usage has been softer lately, which Siân has raised with me. I need to know what we would be paying for that we do not have today, and how that sits against what the teams are actually doing with the brain. I have copied Mandy because the ledger side will need to see any change to the annual figure. Please keep the detail on her side to what is necessary. Tell me early, not late: is there anything else in the new terms I should know about before I speak to Siân? Graham Tovey
- Tom Ashdown 1 Sep 2026 11:56Hi Graham, Thanks for coming back so quickly, and fair point on the headline. Here it is. Your current term runs to 9 Jan 2027, and the annual figure today is £120,500. From the day after, the renewal moves Brimscombe onto the current Enterprise list. Two things come with that which you do not have today: Premium support, with a named engineer, and the Sandbox. Both are now included in the Enterprise price rather than being add-ons. The three extra blocks of ten users you already run on top of the standard Enterprise allowance stay in place, so your 180 licensed users are not affected. Put together, the new annual total is up by just under fourteen per cent on the £120,500. I will send the exact figures in writing rather than quote them from memory, so there is no room for doubt on either side. On your point about usage, you are right, and I would rather deal with it than step round it. Daniel and Siân have been looking at it together, and I would not want you signing anything until you have seen what they find. Premium support and the Sandbox are meant to help with exactly this, but they are only worth paying for if the teams use them. Mandy, nothing here changes your invoicing or payment dates, and I will not get into anything about credit position by email. Could we get something in the diary for next week, with you, Siân and Daniel, to go through the figures and the usage side by side? Leave the scheduling with me. Best, Tom
