Daniel Okafor's three-month renewal notice for the Growth subscription drew a sceptical reply from CFO Rupert Lasker. He asked how many of the forty users are real, whether the team could do it in-house, and what it costs.

Ask: Rupert Lasker wants the real usage, the annual cost and the cost after the price change before going further. He also asks whether Delancey Haig's own data team could replace the brain.

Customer view: Rupert is testing value, not disputing the notice. Daniel concedes well under half of the forty licences are active and offers a side-by-side comparison of the in-house option.

Next: Daniel is to send the usage summary and Priya Raman the order form. The renewal figure is not stated in the thread, which only says it moves to the current Growth list price.

Dear Rupert, I hope you are well. I am writing, as we always do, to give you three months' notice that the Growth subscription for Delancey Haig comes up for renewal. The current term ends on 2 Jul 2026, and the contracted annual amount today is £44,000 for forty licensed users. Two things you should know at this stage. First, the price book has been updated since you signed, and a renewal starting after the change moves to the current list price for Growth. Priya will set out the exact figure in the order form so that you have it in writing rather than from me in an email. Second, any introductory discount from your first term does not carry over into a renewal. I would also like to show you what the team is getting from it before you decide anything. Usage has been rising and I can put together a short summary of who is using what, in plain terms, if that would help. Priya is copied and will pick up the commercial side. We are aiming to have this settled by 19 May 2026, though that is of course your call. Best wishes, Daniel

Daniel, Thanks for the notice. Before we go further: what are we actually using? I see the licence count but I do not have a clear sense of how many of the forty are real users. And can we do this ourselves with the data team we already have? Remind me of the annual cost as well, and what it will be after the change you mention. Rupert

Dear Rupert, Thank you for coming back to me, and fair questions all three. On usage: a little over a dozen people are active in a typical month, so well under half of the forty licences. It is up on the previous quarter, and the people using it are the client-account directors and the operations team, which is who it was bought for. I would not pretend the remaining licences are all in daily use. That is the part I would like to work on with Saskia. On cost: today it is £44,000 a year. The renewal figure will come from the current price book for Growth, and Priya will send you the order form with the exact amount so there is no ambiguity. On doing it yourselves: it can be done, but I would want you to weigh the time your own team would spend keeping the connections and the nightly refresh running against what you have now. I am happy to set that out side by side if it is useful. I have copied Priya so the order form and the usage summary reach you together. I will come back to you by the end of this week with the summary. Best wishes, Daniel On 8 Apr 2026, at 10:46, Rupert Lasker wrote: > what are we actually using?
