What it says
What this says
Current to 13 Oct 26Draft renewal proposal by Nell Ashcombe for the Growth subscription, which runs to 2 Apr 2026. It cites £44k as the reference point, leaves the renewal price open and proposes a usage review before any user-count change. Not yet reviewed with Lornefield.
What it is: an internal draft renewal proposal dated 7 Jan 2026, written by Nell Ashcombe. It says the draft is "Not yet reviewed with Lornefield", so it is an open item, not an offer.
Commits: nothing is binding. It proposes renewing on Growth "with the licensed users and connectors as they are today" and reviewing the licensed user count afterwards.
Unusual: it flags falling usage, with about a fifth of the 40 licensed users active on an average day, down by nearly a third on the previous quarter. It also concedes "We do not yet know which, and the data does not tell us."
Not settled: "The renewal price will be confirmed in the order form once the open points below are settled." The user count, the review date and the owner of each open point are undecided. The text does not show whether the draft was sent or whether the renewal happened.

Body
Lornefield Pensions Administration - Renewal Proposal v1
Draft. Prepared by Nell Ashcombe, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, BB-Demo. Dated Wednesday 7 January 2026. Not yet reviewed with Lornefield.
Purpose
Your current Growth subscription runs to 2 Apr 2026. This draft sets out how we would like to renew it, and what we think needs to change in how the brain is used so that the renewal is worth it to you. Lornefield has been with us since 3 Apr 2023 and was one of our Year 1 design partners. That one's on us to say: we want this to be a proposal we can defend with evidence, not a form to sign.
Where things stand
| Item | Position |
|---|---|
| Tier | Growth |
| Contracted annual recurring revenue | £44k |
| Licensed users | 40 |
| Invoices | None overdue |
| Support | A single ticket in the last thirty days, none high priority |
On the commercial side nothing is wrong: you pay on time and support is quiet.
What the usage says
Read the whole document (2,393 characters)
The number of people using the brain has fallen. Over the last thirty days only about a fifth of the 40 licensed users have been active on an average day, and that is down by nearly a third on the previous quarter. Quiet support can mean a settled team, or it can mean people have drifted back to their old routines. We do not yet know which, and the data does not tell us.
Proposal
- Renew on the Growth tier, with the licensed users and connectors as they are today.
- Hold a short review with the scheme-relationship managers to find out who stopped using the brain and why.
- Agree two or three questions that each manager should be able to answer from trustee calls, member-query tickets and fee invoices in one place, and check the brain answers them.
- Review the licensed user count after that work, so you pay for the people who use it.
Pricing
The contracted annual figure of £44k is the reference point. The renewal price will be confirmed in the order form once the open points below are settled.
Open points
- Confirm with Daniel Okafor which teams have dropped off and when.
- Decide whether the licensed user count should stay at 40 for the next term.
- Agree a date for the usage review before the term ends.
Next steps
- Daniel to bring the usage detail by team to the next internal check-in.
- Nell to take the draft to Lornefield once the open points have an owner.
Best, Nell
Unusual terms
