What this says
Current to 14 Oct 26On the 19 Aug 2026 renewal call, Jonathan Marsden said the brain is still valued despite operations turnover. He heard the move from £20k to £22k and wants to check with finance before an order form is sent.
What happened: Marcus Bell opened with usage, noting a smaller subset of the team asks most of the questions. Jonathan Marsden attributed lower usage to operations staff leaving and said the brain is still useful for those using it.
Commercial: Tom Ashdown quoted Starter at £20k moving to the £22k list, about 13 percent, annual and paid upfront. Jonathan restated the terms and did not accept them on the call.
Customer view: He asked why the price is rising, then said he would check with his finance person. No objection to the price was voiced, but no commitment was made either.
Watch: Usage is concentrated in a few people and the team has shrunk. The evidence does not show whether the order form was sent or signed. Growth was raised only as a later option.

Follow-up
Next steps
Current to 9 Oct 26- Tom Ashdown to draft and send the order form to Jonathan Marsden.
- Jonathan Marsden to confirm with his finance person and come back.
- Marcus Bell to offer a usage and value conversation if Jonathan has questions.
Risks
Current to 9 Oct 26- Usage is concentrated in a smaller subset of the team after operations turnover, a key-person risk for the Starter subscription.
- The price moves from £19,500 to £22,000 and Jonathan Marsden asked why, then deferred to his finance person.
- No order form was agreed on the call, so the renewal at the end of September is not confirmed by this record.
Opportunities
Current to 9 Oct 26- If usage recovers with new people or teams, Growth gives 40 users, more connectors and the dashboards builder.

- Marcus Bell NoneHi Jonathan, Tom's here too. So we wanted to check in about your renewal: contract's coming up at the end of September, and I wanted to grab some time to talk through what you've been using and what makes sense next.
- Jonathan Marsden NoneYeah, that's good timing. What have you got for me?
- Marcus Bell NoneSo I've pulled the numbers. You know, we've seen usage trends that I think are worth talking about. You've got 15 licensed users on Starter. The pattern over the last few months has been that a smaller subset of the team is asking most of the questions. I wanted to check in: is everything working for you, or has something shifted?
- Jonathan Marsden NoneHmm, yeah. You know, it's been a bit of a mad period for us. We had some turnover in the operations team, couple of people left. That might be why you're seeing lower usage. But we definitely still value the brain, it's useful for the people using it.
- Tom Ashdown NoneRight. So it sounds like you want to keep it. Let's talk about the renewal. You're currently on Starter at £19,500. This year the list price has gone up a touch, we're looking at £22,000. I know that's a jump, so I wanted to be transparent about it and talk through it.
- Jonathan Marsden NoneWhy the increase?
- Tom Ashdown NoneWe updated our pricing in December. New customers pay the new price from day one. Existing customers like you stay on the old price until renewal, then you move to the new list. It's about 13 percent increase for Starter. I know that's not ideal, but it reflects the value we're trying to build.
- Jonathan Marsden NoneAnd if we did want to renew, what's the commitment?
- Tom Ashdown NoneSame as before, annual, paid upfront. You'd renew again at the end of next September. Renewal notice is ninety days, so we'd touch base with you in early June.
- Marcus Bell NoneAnd if usage does pick back up, if you bring on new people or new teams, we can always move you to Growth tier. That would give you 40 users, more connectors, the dashboards builder. But that's a separate conversation.
- Jonathan Marsden NoneOK, so £22,000, annual, and we'd renew next September.
- Tom Ashdown NoneThat's right. We'd send you a renewal notice in June, we'd talk through it then. For now, if you're happy to go ahead, I can get an order form over and we can get that signed.
- Jonathan Marsden NoneYeah, I think so. Let me just check with my finance person and I'll come back to you.
- Tom Ashdown NonePerfect. I'll get that order form drafted and sent over. No drama. We'll get you sorted.
- Marcus Bell NoneAnd if you've got any questions about usage or value, just let me know. Happy to jump on a call anytime.
- Jonathan Marsden NoneWill do. Thanks.
- Tom Ashdown NoneCheers, Jonathan. Speak soon.
