What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026On 21 Sep 2023 Penvarra Digital saw a Starter demo across Salesforce, Google Workspace and HubSpot. Toby and Steve were positive and agreed to a proposal. Toby asked about saving queries, which is a Growth feature.
What happened: Tobias Renwick walked Toby Lister and Steve Yates through search over Penvarra's connected systems. Tom Ashdown agreed to send a proposal the following week.
Customer view: Steve said the cross-system question matched what the team wanted, and called the demo "genuinely useful". Toby asked to see the numbers.
Commercial: The scope discussed was Starter, with 15 users, 4 connectors and a 4 week implementation. Toby's questions on saving queries and adding data sources touch the Growth dashboards builder and 8 connectors.
Watch: Tobias said higher tiers get more frequent syncs, but Tom later said nightly refresh applies to every tier. That sets a freshness expectation the order form should settle.

Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Tom Ashdown to send the Starter proposal to Toby Lister the following week and arrange a follow-up call.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Tobias said higher tiers get more frequent syncs while nightly refresh applies to every tier, so the freshness expectation may be unclear.
- Toby's wish to save and schedule queries is a Growth feature, so Starter may feel limiting.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- The questions on saved queries and extra data sources point to a later move to Growth with its dashboards builder and 8 connectors.
Transcript
- Tom AshdownRight, everyone on?
- Tobias RenwickI'm here. Just give it a second.
- Toby ListerYes, I'm on.
- Steve YatesHi, yeah, all good here.
- Tom AshdownBrilliant. So Tobias, our CTO, is going to walk you through this. Tobias, to remind you, Toby and Steve have data scattered across Salesforce, Google Workspace, and other places. They need their account managers to be able to ask questions fast. Over to you.
- Tobias RenwickThanks, Tom. Right, so what we've done is connected Penvarra's Salesforce, Google Workspace, and HubSpot. All of that's sitting inside your Snowflake instance, which you control. None of this data is stored by us or anywhere else. It's all yours. To be precise, what we've built is an AI layer on top of that data, and it understands your schema. So instead of writing queries, you ask questions in plain language.
- Toby ListerRight. So I could just ask it a question?
- Tobias RenwickThat's right. Let me show you. So I'm going to search for a campaign. Say, show me the performance of the June campaign. And there it is. You can see spend, clicks, impressions, and engagement from your email system. All from one query, across two systems.
- Steve YatesThat's actually quite slick. How accurate is that? Is the data always up to date?
- Tobias RenwickGood question. We sync data nightly. So every morning you've got fresh data from the night before. That's what's in Penvarra's case. For you as a Starter, that's the refresh cycle. Higher tiers get more frequent syncs if needed.
- Toby ListerAnd you mentioned queries. Can I build my own? Like, can I save a query and run it regularly?
- Tobias RenwickNot quite in the way you're thinking. Starter tier gives you the search interface, which is what you're seeing. You ask questions, you get answers. That's the interface. On Growth tier, you get a dashboards builder, so you can save queries as dashboards and set them to refresh. For now, let me show you more of what's possible in search.
- Tobias RenwickSo Toby, I'm going to ask something more complex. Show me clients where spend last quarter was over five thousand but this quarter it's trending down. And there. That's your at-risk list.
- Steve YatesThat's exactly the kind of thing we've been wanting to know. Currently we'd have to pull Salesforce and Google separately, then manually compare. How often could we run that?
- Tobias RenwickAs often as you want. Every day if you wanted. The brain is always available, and the data refreshes every night, so you're never more than a day behind.
- Toby ListerWhat about sharing? Can I send that list to someone?
- Tobias RenwickYou can. You can export as CSV or just copy the link and share it. Anyone on your team can access it if they're a user in the system.
- Tom AshdownAnd Starter tier, which is what we'd be talking about for you, includes up to fifteen users. So you could get your account managers and analysts in, they all get access.
- Steve YatesWhat about access control? Can I limit who sees what?
- Tobias RenwickOn Starter, access is binary. Either someone has access to the brain or they don't. If they do, they can see all the data. If your needs get more granular, that's where Growth and Enterprise tiers come in, with more controls. But to be honest, most teams don't need that level of permission management straight away.
- Toby ListerFair enough. What about if we want to add more data sources? Like, say we add Marketo, or we want to pull in some custom database.
- Tobias RenwickStarter gives you four connectors. So you could connect Salesforce, Google Workspace, HubSpot, and one more. If you wanted more, you'd upgrade to Growth, which gives you eight. Or you could add connectors one at a time.
- Steve YatesHow long does it take to add a connector? Is it an implementation thing?
- Tobias RenwickIt depends on the connector. Standard ones like Salesforce or HubSpot, usually a few days. Custom sources or unusual systems might take longer. We'd assess when you ask.
- Tom AshdownAnd all of that's part of the implementation phase. So when you sign up, we do a four-week implementation, we get all the connectors set up, we train everyone, and you're live.
- Toby ListerWhat happens if something breaks? Like, what if the Salesforce sync stops?
- Tobias RenwickGood question. If a connector fails, you'll see a notification in the interface. We also monitor it on our side. Starter tier gives you support during UK business hours, so we'd get to it. Most issues are on the customer's side: API key changed, that sort of thing. We handle that.
- Steve YatesAnd data security? You said it's all in our Snowflake?
- Tobias RenwickThat's right. The data lives in your Snowflake instance, which you control completely. We have access to build and maintain the brain, but the data itself is yours. You can audit access, you can revoke our access, you own the encryption. It's your data.
- Toby ListerOkay. That's actually really clear. What would the next step be?
- Tom AshdownSo we'd put together a proposal. We'd walk you through what we've shown today, the scope of connectors, the implementation timeline, pricing. Then we'd have a call to discuss any questions, and if everyone's happy, we'd get an order form signed and we'd kick off.
- Steve YatesHow long is the implementation?
- Tom AshdownFour weeks for Starter. We'd set up your connectors, configure the brain, train your team, and hand it over to you live.
- Toby ListerAnd then what? Is it support only after that?
- Tom AshdownMore or less. You've got support included, you can ask questions, and you can add connectors or users as you go. If you want to upgrade to Growth, you can do that anytime.
- Steve YatesThis is genuinely useful. I can see how this saves time.
- Tom AshdownBrilliant. So I'll put together a proposal and send it over by next week. Toby, you're happy with that?
- Toby ListerYeah, let's do it. I'm keen to see the numbers.
- Tom AshdownBrilliant. I'll get that over, and then we can have a quick call to discuss it. Cheers, everyone.
- Toby ListerThanks, Tom. Thanks, Tobias.
- Steve YatesYeah, really helpful. Cheers.
- Tobias RenwickThanks. Speak soon.
