What this says
Current to 13 Oct 26Short check-in on 22 Feb 2024. Imogen Hartley is positive on usage and says her director's question is whether the brain earns its place. Daniel Okafor will send the Starter renewal order form and a scoping hour on trustee reporting.
What happened: Daniel brought the usage note after the quarterly review. Imogen said it was clear, including the dip, and that two scheme managers used the brain ahead of a trustee meeting unprompted.
Customer view: One manager said it saved the better part of a morning. Imogen has already put that in her value case for her director.
Commercial: The Starter term runs to 2 Apr 2024 with renewal on 3 Apr 2024, at £20k for fifteen users. Imogen needs a few weeks, because finance and her director want the note first.
Watch: Imogen wants an hour on trustee reporting and says good ideas go quiet without an owner. Daniel has taken it on, so a missed follow-up would cost credibility.

Next steps
Current to 9 Oct 26- Daniel Okafor sends the Starter renewal order form and the session slots for newer starters by the end of the following week.
- Daniel offers times for an hour on trustee reporting in the week after the order form goes over.
- Imogen Hartley tells Daniel which managers should attend the session.
Risks

- The trustee reporting idea could stall if the scoping hour is not booked after the order form goes out.
Opportunities
Current to 9 Oct 26- Trustee reporting from one consistent view could extend use of the brain, possibly touching the dashboards builder that Growth adds.
- Two scheme managers used the brain unprompted, which gives a usable value sentence for the renewal.
Transcript
- Daniel Okafor NoneHello Imogen, can you hear me? Thank you for making time this afternoon.
- Imogen Hartley NoneI can, Daniel, hello. Sorry, I'm a minute or two behind. The trustee meeting ran on, as they do.
- Daniel Okafor NoneNo trouble at all. Is it just us today? I didn't think Craig was joining, but I wanted to check.
- Imogen Hartley NoneJust us. He's heads down on something, and honestly there's nothing technical to raise. I'd have heard.
- Daniel Okafor NoneGood. Then this should be a short and friendly one. A fortnight or so ago we had the quarterly review, so I don't want to repeat all of it. I thought I'd just bring you the usage note I promised, and see how things have felt since.
- Imogen Hartley NoneYes, I've got it open. It was clear, I'll say that. Even the bit about the dip. It's a good deal easier to take to the people above me when it's said plainly.
- Daniel Okafor NoneThank you, that's what I hoped. So since the last time, the picture has settled. You're back to around four active people on a normal day, and it's very slightly up on the quarter before. Small, but the direction is right.
- Imogen Hartley NoneThat fits what I see. The scheme managers have been back in properly now the holidays are behind us. Two of them did the thing I was hoping for last time. They used it ahead of a trustee meeting without anyone asking them to.
- Daniel Okafor NoneOh, that's lovely to hear. What did they use it for, if you don't mind me asking?
- Imogen Hartley NonePulling the history of calls with the trustees for one scheme, and then lining that up against the member queries that had come in. One of them said it saved her the better part of a morning. I won't pretend it's a revolution, but it's what we bought it for.
- Daniel Okafor NoneThat's exactly the kind of thing I want to hear. It's worth writing down, actually. When you take the value case upstairs, a sentence like that does more than a chart.
- Imogen Hartley NoneI've already put it in. The real question for my director is simple: do we carry on, and does it earn its place. I think the answer is yes, but I want to be able to show why.
- Daniel Okafor NoneWhich brings me on to the paperwork, so there are no surprises. Your term runs to 2 Apr 2024 and the renewal date is 3 Apr 2024. It's the same tier, Starter, with fifteen users, at £19,500 a year. I'll send you the renewal order form so you have it well in advance.
- Imogen Hartley NoneGood. Is that the same as now, or is there something I should know about? I'd rather ask than assume.
- Daniel Okafor NoneAs far as I'm aware it's the same terms as you have now. If anything about that changes I'll tell you straight away rather than let it sit. And anything that touches the commercial side, Nell will be on the thread too.
- Imogen Hartley NoneFine. I'll need a few weeks on my side. Finance will want to see it, and my director will want the note first.
- Daniel Okafor NoneOf course. I'll send the order form by the end of next week, and I'll come back to you if I need anything from your finance team to make it easier.
- Imogen Hartley NonePerfect. Now, can I raise the other thing? The trustee reporting idea. I said last time I'd want an hour, and I still do. But I wanted to give you a taste so you can think about whether it's sensible.
- Daniel Okafor NonePlease do. Go on, I'm listening.
- Imogen Hartley NoneAt the moment each scheme manager builds their own picture for a trustee pack. Calls, queries, fee invoices, it's all stitched together by hand. If the brain could give them a consistent view, so each pack starts from the same facts, I think that's where it really pays. It's not a new product, it's using what we have better.
- Daniel Okafor NoneI like that, and it sits comfortably with what you already have connected. I'd want to look at it properly before I promise anything, because I don't want to guess what's possible and then disappoint you. Can we put an hour in after the renewal is out of the way?
- Imogen Hartley NoneThat works. Though I'd rather not let it drift. I've seen good ideas go quiet because nobody owned the next step.
- Daniel Okafor NoneThen let me own it. I'll offer you some times in the week after the order form goes over, and I'll make sure someone from our side who knows the dashboards is on it, in case that's where it lands.
- Imogen Hartley NoneGood. Thank you. And the session for the newer starters, the one we talked about last time?
- Daniel Okafor NoneJust to close the loop on that, I have it pencilled in for you to choose from. I'll put the slots in the same email as the order form so it's all in one place, if that's easier.
- Imogen Hartley NoneIt is. One email, one thing to answer. Brilliant.
- Daniel Okafor NoneHow are you yourself, by the way? I know it's been a busy start to the year. Last time you mentioned the board cycle was getting heavier.
- Imogen Hartley NoneIt has. Busy but good. I'm in the right sort of tired. Thank you for asking. And you? Still looking after all your design partners?
- Daniel Okafor NoneStill at it, and still enjoying it. You were among the first, you know, and I don't take that lightly.
- Imogen Hartley NoneThat's kind. Right, I should get back. Is there anything else you need from me?
- Daniel Okafor NoneOnly which managers you'd like at the session, when you have a moment. Otherwise I think we're in good shape. I'll send the order form and the slots by the end of next week.
- Imogen Hartley NoneWonderful. Thanks, Daniel. Best, Imogen.
- Daniel Okafor NoneThank you, Imogen. Speak soon. Best wishes, Daniel.
